Background: I've been having a plethora of issues with my car and one of the few things left it could possibly be is my ECU.
What I'm Looking For: Someone in York Region/Toronto/GTA (closer to Richmond Hill the better) with a 2006 Mazda 3 w. a 2.3L engine and manual transmission who will let me try out their ECU in my car quickly to see if it's the root of all evil my problems.
What Is Involved: Meet up and I change over the ECU quickly, go for a short drive, do some datalogging/monitoring and then switch them back. The ECU is very quick to change as it's attached to the battery box. The only downside is that you will need to reset all your radio presets afterwards as the battery will be disconnected.
Hopefully someone is willing to do this - I'll gladly throw you a bit of $ for gas costs/food/beer or whatever but I'm not interested in paying much when I can buy a known working ECU for ~$150 or so. I can also help out with any car issues in return (not about to spend hours fixing your car for you though) as I've had these cars down to just a shell with an interior before (i.e. I know them damn well, mechanically) and have a scanner/data monitoring tool at my disposal.
Looking to do this tomorrow anytime between noon and 6pm if possible.
My car is a 2006 3 Sport GT (2.3L, 5 Speed), equivalent car is preferred but any 2006 with a 2.3L and m/t will be suffice as they are the same ECU part numbers.
PM and/or email me at "s.ponte at gmail.com". Feel free to call or text as well --> (647)999-1974. (Preferably not PM as I likely won't be on a computer again until tomorrow).
Thanks!!!
