Hello,
I'm replacing the front rotors on my 2007 Mazda 3 GT. I've recently found out that the rotors for the 2.3L are slightly bigger then the 2.0L. My question is, will the slightly smaller 2.0L rotors fit onto the 2.3L car without any issues?
Thanks

I have no idea if they do but even if they would, why would you want to use them? That would impede the quality of your braking by quite a bit. Just replace them with the proper equipment especially since they are a key safety feature of your vehicle.

pretty sure the 2.3 rotors are slighter bigger..better to run those.

He might have his reasons, but how much heavier is the 2.3 compared to the 2.0? If it isn't that much different I don't think it is too much of an safety issue.

I was actually wondering the reason of the question myself. Performance? Cost? Maybe someone has some from a 2.0 that he can have...
To be honest the weight difference won't make a different in performance so you would be better off sticking with the 2.3 rotor anyway.

The reason I'm asking is because I bought the parts thinking I had the right ones, and I'm not in a situation where I can return them. The guy at the desk asked me what car I had and said there was two options, one with a turbo and one without. I definitely don't have a Turbo. My knowledge of cars is limited so I didn't know the GT model was different.

Fair enough.
If you bought them from a store, why won't they let you exchange them? I would complain that they ordered/gave you the wrong part.

Problem is that I'd have to drive 18 hours one way to return them. I was on a road trip visiting family in the USA and bought them out there since generally things are cheaper in the good old US of A.

You cannot use 2.0L rotors on a 2.3L car. Reason the caliper brackets on a 2.3L require the bigger rotor.

Alright, thanks for the help everybody, and for the answer RedRaptor! I guess I'll go around to some local auto supply stores and see if they can help me out with a trade or something haha.
Again thanks everyone.

Why not just try to sell them on here once you get to the proper post count? I'm sure someone with a 2.0 will buy them.
