View Full Version : Anyone know a Garage Door Installer? Or someone who can do an Interlock Walkway?

As some of you know, I'm moving on August 26th. There's 2 things I would like to do sooner than later for this home. I would rather have a professional do this, rather than take on the task my self.

- install a garage door opener

- install an interlock walk way

I'm looking to see if any of you know installers for these 2 projects. I know I can go to the local Home Depot, but I'm looking to see if anyone here can vouch for any professional installers.

Thanks.

I have a friend who runs his own landscaping company, good work, I even do some work for him at times, although I won't be working on yours lol.
His site: http://www.cabanalandscaping.com/ Has pictures of his past work too.

I just checked out their site and they look like they do some decent landscaping, but I don't see anywhere where they say they install garage doors or install interlocking brick walkways. :S

Well I've worked for him doing it, and also I link you to http://www.cabanalandscaping.com/apps/photos/ and it clearly shows they have done it.

Ah cool. You should recommend he add some of those details to his "Services" section.

Sorry for the detour Chris. :bot

For garage door, we used these guys: http://www.kwdoor.com/ $75 dollars to install

Also I hope you have a Chamberlain Belt drive opener.

Bought our opener from Costco: http://www.costco.ca/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=10299966&search=chamberlain&Mo=4&cm_re=1_en-_-Top_Left_Nav-_-Top_search&lang=en-CA&Nr=P_CatalogName:BCCA&Sp=S&N=0&whse=BCCA&Dx=mode+matchallpartial&Ntk=Text_Search&Dr=P_CatalogName:BCCA&Ne=4000000&D=chamberlain&Ntt=chamberlain&No=4&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Nty=1&topnav=&s=1

Thanks for the recommendation, but their offices are in Kingston and Collingwood. The site says they service Southwestern Ontario and Northern Ontario; I need someone for Mississauga.

Also I'm not sure if this is a new house, but when we moved into our house, there were stickers on the garage door to call and get an opener installed professional to avoid warranty issues.

Also avoid GENIE from CT, some garage door installers will refuse to install them.

I wonder why? Mine's been working well for 5 years, except when we had one of the remotes fail, and then their customer service was excellent (sent us 2 free replacements for the single defective unit). I guess I should knock on wood..

Anyway I used these guys to break into my garage on the one occasion that the remote failed (I don't have a door from the house to the garage) and they were great (located in Georgetown):
