not gonna happen. it's aways waaaaay out there away from gta. the most we ever get is hail or severe thunderstorm
also they keep headlining "tornado watch toronto" but when they actually talk about it, they keep listing cities far from toronto :chuckle. those poor mountain folk

I was just watching the news on a few channels - they all seem to indicate that essentially the entire GTA is under this swath of volatile weather.

In Kitchener - Just some light rumble and rain right now. Radar shows it'll be rolling into our area shortly though. I think the tornado watch is just a knee jerk reaction to the one in goderich though.

I agree, I think the Goderich tornado has these people over worried. But you never know. They've already told people in several places to seek shelter: http://www.theweathernetwork.com/index.php?product=alerts®ion=pr35&placecode=caon0356&productname=weather#Tornado%20watch
Should a tornado occur, the safety of the garage better save my car !
Edit: now that I look at a map, the places they are telling to take shelter form a semicircle around my house:s

My parents and brothers live in Goderich. When the tornado hit, nobody knew it was coming. My brothers actually went down to the cliff overlooking the beach just before it hit and went running home just as it started to get to shore.
A little bit of a warning can't hurt.

We're in the thick of it here, pretty crazy electrical storm so far but raining heavy but not insane and no hail yet. The lightning is the worst I've seen in a while.

One more from upstairs in my house, this is out a window hence the lack of noise and the storm has moved off a little ways...so just some cool bolts of lightning lighting up the sky.

^ yep. People in TO tend to flip out and overexaggerate over nothing.
Kinda like how -20 in TO is considered a "deep freeze" when -45 is just another regular day in Ottawa lol :chuckle

Burlington got rocked pretty hard, Amazing view from 11stories up.
I have friends still without power. I kept seeing some green orb blowing up near Mapleview Mall. The OPP did not shut the skyway down, they were escorting people over 1 direction at a time.

no we haven't that was maple area and that's the closest it's ever gotten and even then it was just minor hail for less than 5 mins
last night was lame. just another thunderstorm with some extra lightning. we just tend to not have them very often so everyone gets all worked up about it

We most certainly have, about two years ago (in august) a tornado almost touched down near box grove ish area. and years before that a twister went through the reesor park area.
