I have a 2011 GS Sport and I have a feeling that the driver side door is misaligned. When compared to the passenger side front door, the driver side door closes with more of a thud and opening it is not as smooth. Compared to my 2008.5 Mazda3, I also hear more wind noise in the 2011.
I was wondering if anyone else experienced this. Should I bring it back to the dealer to have them look at it or would it just be a waste of time?

Is the difference noticeable visually? Or is it just the difference in the thud.
I am experiencing the exact same thing, 2011 gs sport. When I close the driver side door I have to close it using more force than I think should be necessary while the other 3 doors close with little effort. If I don't use any force the door will not close properly and I get a warinh that the door is open...
Sorry forgot to add , also wondering if I should take it to a dealer?

I would take it to the dealer 100%. My passenger side door was making a popping sound every time someone opened it and it felt like it was loose. I took it back to the dealership and they replaced a bolt that had stripped somehow. When your brand new car is doing something you don't like, its Never a waste of time.

Did not notice anything visually. Its the sound of the thud and the opening that is less smooth on the driver's side.

Dont take NO for an answer. If there is a problem with a brand new car and its obviously something you didnt cause. Make them fix it. If the service person says no, take it to the service manager. If they say no go to the GM. Eventually the higher you go it will get fixed.

100% bring it back...get them to fix it, if there is something wrong with it. BUT dont let them charge you, there should be no defects when buying a new car, thats why you buy new!! If they dont fix it for free, do what my old man did, take the plates off and leave the car there, cancel the payments...you'll see that they will take you seriously and do whats right. (he did this bc there is was dent in the roll cage of our Honda Pilot and the doors were SIGNIFICANTLY different colours, they refused to change the vehicle, they also refused to give/pay for a rental, so my dad went to the parking lot and took the plates off right in front of the dealership...sure enough, they upgraded our package on the Pilot, along with a brand new truck, and a rental for the 2 weeks it took to come it)
show them your pissed and your serious...sometimes you have to play hardball
NOTE: not all dealerships are as stupid as the Honda dealership we dealt with, so make that a "back against the wall, no other option" option :P
Hope all goes well!!

Mazda dealers are among the worst dealers for service around. Honda dealers are far better than any Mazda dealer that I've ever stepped into. I would bitch royally because thats unacceptable for them not to realign it for you.

if you did want for us to have a look let me know, however it would need to be from monday to friday so i can have our body shop inspect the doors alignment as that is not something we would be able to do at out shop.
pm me if you wanted to set up an appt.
