View Full Version : People Who Talk At The Movies

Does anyone have any experiences to share while at the movies? I mean those people who wont STFU during a movie and are constantly talking!
I went this past weekend and this guy behind me kept kicking my girlfriends seat and wouldnt stop talking so I turned around and said "can you please be quiet". He sais "was I talking to you" I dont get what that has to do with him talking but I told him to STFU which he then decided to say "I am going to kick your ass"
It seems like you cant say anything to people these days without getting into a confrontation even though you are the victim. We pay good money to go to the movies these days so is it too much to ask to watch it in peace?
Anyone have any similar stories?
What about people who chew too loud while eating popcorn or nachos LOL
Next time tell the staff at the theatre... Let them deal with it

^ See, that is why you always sit at the back corner. It's not like you can't see the massive screen or anything, and you don't have to deal with that kind of BS ;)
I went to see Inception and missed the entire movie because some girl couldn't stop laughing. I'm surprised I kept my cool even though I could feel my blood boiling on the inside lol

if someone kicks my chair, they have about 3 give-mes, before I will turn around and tell them to watch their feet.. I've never had someone tell me they will kick my ass at the movies, although I'm usually bigger then the guy sitting behind me, so I guess that helps

Thats what was funny, the guy was really skinny and I could have beat his ass but I am not that kind of a person.

I can't stand it. I like complete silence in a theater but obviously that doesn't always happen. I've told people to be quiet before but never had an idiot like that. No one has any consideration for other people any more.

Right here!
Lots of people I meet now think that they're entitled to something and that they deserve something.
Those are the type that think that "I paid money to go into the theater so I can do whatever the hell I want."
If you're whispering once in a while to the guy next to you, yeah, whatever, I'm not going to care.
But I will not stand for full out talking and chair kicking.

I especially hate it when people kick the seats.. I had to tell some guy to stop kicking my GF's seat but the good thing is the guy apologized and stopped.. As for people pretending to be tough and looking for a fight, I say just let security handle it... These people have nothing to lose and do not have anything important in their lives to live for, that's why they act all tough. It's just not worth it...

Totally ruins all my bootleg downloads
what people dont understand is - when somebody behind you is confrontational and challenges you to a fight - he is at a huge disadvantage. Just grab the guys collar and pull. he loses his footing, topples over the back of the seat he was kicking - and you have a field day pulling elbow drops on him

I hate to say that its always the younger folk who seem to be asshats at theaters because I guess I just got "out" of the teens (22). But man, it seems theres so many idiots these days more so than before and to be honest, quite scary that this is our future LOL.
I've seen quite a few talkers recently, one was a kid talking a lot during transformers. I'm not sure if he had any sort of disability due to the frequency of outbursts and therefore did not look too negatively at him. However, the adults with him did not do anything to curb such behaviour so I'd look at them for that. it was the Saturday after opening so this was obviously a packed theater.

Lmao, i can totally see my one friend saying that...
But yeah, younger peoples attitude are definetly shifting that way.

I would have a very hard time biting my tongue.. especially if its a movie I chose and not my wife..( please feel free to laugh and sneer and cheer, party , high five each other, pop open champane and drink out of the stanly cup during The Notebook idiots! ) but if it were during a movie as important to me as The Hangover.. well I would stand up slowly and turn around and look at whichever yo yo was making the ruckus.. and say to him in the words of Baseball Pitching Legend Kenny Power's " YOU'RE F**KING OUT! I went to watch "The Change-Up" last week. We sat in the 2nd-to-last row. There was a very horny couple behind us moaning, groaning, and shit. It was really awkward.

That's some serious things that happened here. But do you guys get those people who pull out their mobile phones and use it during the movie? I don't mind for a minute or so to answer a quick text...it could be an emergency but this man during Planet of the Apes pulled out (get this) a tablet PC.
Some people in the movies lost it! Everybody (and me) were literately shouting turn it off (along with some curse words)....think someone also threw a popcorn bag or something at him. But what in the world would someone be doing with a tablet PC during a movie?

lol strange people out there. But really, I rather a tablet then people cursing the guy out, how do you even enjoy the movie at that point? just ignore the idiot if he wont comply.
and what about the people that are wow'd by ANYTHING. the lady behind me in the 2012 movie was annoying as F***. the ground shifts. WOOOOOOOOOW. plane flys under falling skyscraper OH MY GOSH!!!! cheesiest joke at the end. HAHA bursts a gut :pofl. credits come up. THAT WAS GREAT. NO THAT WAS ANNOYING AS HELL. Anything remotely disastrous was awarded a big wow every few minutes. Generally my experience has been that 4/5 movies I watch I enjoy without interuptions from other viewers.

I haven't been to a theater in probably a year and a half at least I would say.
I can't stand cramped seats, overpriced food, and people who go to the theater to gab.
And i'm not overly impressed with the theater quality, I would rather wait for Blu-Ray quality rips, where I can sit at home and not deal with annoying inconsiderate people.

I don't go to movies often, but everything described is why I only go to theatres with VIP sections. Don't have to deal with little kids, tweens, etc. + movie beers, and people to get me said movie beers.

Punks. All of 'em.
I've definitely been a talker in movies so I can't say much without being a hypocrite. I at least try to whisper my excitement or shock from a scene to friends and not talk to them about how their day was during the movie. Save that for later. Some people just find the need to ruin movies...

Around $6 (maybe $6.50) for a bottle. Not cheap, but considering the 'actual' cost for what even a regualr coke costs......I'm fine with the beer. I don't drink often, so a beer or two during a movie is fine by me.
