View Full Version : ideas for replacement Shocks?

I've been riding on my stock Shocks, and I'm dropped on Pro-Kits.
Car is just over 111,000 now - and the shocks aren't doing so hot, so I'm wanting to replace the front shocks.

Any ideas on the best place where I can get a new set of front Shocks?
Not entirely sure on brands either, but I can't really afford anything too expensive (like Koni Yellows :))

I've heard KYB would be a good brand to go with?

I had my OEM shocks and springs up to 120,000, and then I installed prokits and KYB together. Perosnally I have no complains with this combo. KYB are pretty much OEM replacement.... maybe a bit better....

I just bought my KYBs from Tire Rack. $300! (Actually more like $275-ish). I picked mine up in the states though so I got a discount in shipping, and only paid $30 in duty ;)

Getting them installed tomorrow along with my prokits. Cannot waitttt!!!!!! :D Will definitely post an update when they're done ;)

Check out Rockauto.com...I paid just under $400 for all four corners shipped. Their prices are quite good and they have an inclusive rate for shipping to use Canucks using Purolator. No crazy UPS brokerage fees! Check it out.

I got my KYB's from Canadian tire.. running them with eibachs.. no problems for 4 years on nasty edmonton roads and nasty calgary winters

I'd like to know how the KYB's are as well. Are they valved to be firmer or the same as stock?

Drop in a 2.3L DISI turbo for me? :P

Nothing really at the moment, though. Couple minor things coming up, but I need to pick up the materials first (paint, plasti-dip, etc). Also thinking of a lip kit and Hellas, but havent been by Nextmod to grab those (yet).

When/where is the magic happening?
