Hey Guys.

Curious to know if anyone has changed the positive battery terminal on their 3?
I'm looking to attach an aftermarket terminal after I do my big three, but I tend to see the aftermarket terminals on only the negatives, or on optima yellow tops with the side terminals.

I notice that on my 04 there is some sort of "fuse" or ceramic block on one of the lines headed to the positive terminal.... I have no idea what that is and figure that particular item is why not some may people have changed the terminal??

I've tried searching but haven't come up with anything...

I've changed the leads on my previous car after doing the "big three"... it's not a big deal. I'm presently away from my car, but I think I know what you're talking about. The positive lead has a bunch of extra terminals... You should be able to either merge all those or find an aftermarket replacement that has multiple leads. I believe the one I used previously had two or three leads. Hopefully I understood your question....

^ No, you've got it right.
Im just concerned about the one lead that seems to have a fuse attached to it. Ill see if i can grab a pic when I go out to the car this am.
Im not sure if years aside from the 04 have this setup. I know the new 2011's don't, as my in laws have one.

i did this. what i did was cut the wire right where it attaches to the stock terminal and then attach it to the new terminal. only thing is its hard wire so it doesn't bend easily and its a pain in the ass.

It's basically a breaker, incase of a major surge. You can remove it, but you will have nothing there as a safety net incase of an issue. I removed mine for a re-setable circuit breaker. I had mine pop, and the only way to get a new one is to buy a wiring harness ($$$).
