This is pretty general to every car out there but thought I'd ask anyway....

Anyone know or recommend a good visa or mastercard that has air miles or aeroplan points? To get gas, I use mainly shell to get my air miles, but also stop by esso once in a while to get areoplans once in a while. If i choose to get an air miles visa or something, I'd probably go to esso to collect aeroplan points and use the visa to pay and get air miles as well. And if I go to Shell, its the other way around.

Just wondering what people are using out there and whats the best benefit to it. I did some research and some of these credit cards have annual fees which suck. Recommendations would help and thanks!

Just a side note, I sometimes find it frustrating when I find shell stations that only have V-power gas... do they not have regular? and is esso like that too or does it sell all gas types? Thats why sometimes i rather just go to esso.

Many people I know (and I can vouch for it too) use Visa Aerogold for Aeroplan points. Yes you pay a $120 annual fee but I charge everything to it (pay full balance monthly) and i've earned enough Aeroplan points for about $1500 in Costco gift cards (offset by $600 in annual premiums, but still pretty good return on investment). Unfortunately I don't use it for gas cards because I don't like Esso. :)
You can also visit credit card search dot ca for a good summary of what cards are popular.

:)I have a cashback mastercard. But for when your thinking of cashing in your air miles, consider free gas :), I received Shell gas coupons from my moms air miles. :D I got $400 worth of free gas from her, you can even earn points back when cashing those coupons back in :)
Depending on who I got at the counter though, shell could be a pita. Some of them would give you change for the coupon others would make you pay the change (since coupons come in $20 amounts).

i have VISA Avion, it has a $120 yearly fee but great travel rewards. i have flown one domestic and one international flight already using my points. they are very flexible and very easy to deal with

Thanks guys. Anymore inputs would be great. I think now I'm considering checking out those annual fee cards. I do like to travel and it seems worth it to some people.

Dang... I've been on my no-fee PC mastercard for the longest time. I usually run everything through that card but only come up with about $300 in rewards.
