When i was 9 i was in an accident while in another country, the car didn't have seat-belts, we got into a head on crash and I was in the back seat. I watched my dad get thrown out of the passenger seat onto the road. Since then i'v always worn my seatbelt. i'v had friends who don't wear them and i i no longer get into their car nor drive mine if they don't buckle up.
There is a few things i get serious about, and safety I'm always serious about

My oldest friend's brother was in a car crash and wasn't wearing his seat belt. When the car flipped, he was ejected from the car and the car landed on his skull.
Nobody gets in my car(s) without buckling up.

A little off topic but I'm the same with bicycle helmets. Hit head on by a pick up truck. I was clipping around 50 km/h when the truck pulled into my lane. Head smashed into the hood and over the cab I went and I landed in the opposing lanes. A helmet saved my life easily. A month in the hospital, coma for about 3 days and 10 months in therapy.

I see it all the time when there is a trauma that shows up at work. Some people are just too lazy to buckle up.

I'll never forget hearing a story how some guy got knocked off his bike, and then his head run over by the same truck. The helmet cracked in 2 but the guy only was hurt from the fall

BAHAHAHAAHAH .. (awaits a new thread argument to start :pop yup stayin out of this one)
I'm with most members on here not like PR3Y11 to say that... But seeing a child thrown like that and to be able to get up and walk away from a crash like that .... LUCKY! Just unreal, and what was that red massive thing thrown out of the car? Can't be the baby/booster seat.

In my books, driver can be as dumb as he wants and not wear a seatbelt, but for the love of god secure your child...
I can't believe he just picked up his child like nothing, god knows what type of injuries the kid had..

My helmet cracked in two places, it did it's job and took a lot of the energy away from my skull. I still had brain injuries with my brain slapping the inside of my skull. I still suffer a little from that, 18 years later. Doctors looked at me and shook their head, saying I should be dead. I landed in the opposing lanes of traffic and heard in court of the one guy locking them up when I landed in front of his pickup truck. The bottom line is that safety should never be compromised. One may never have the need for it but one will also never know when that one time may be when they do need the very safety devices, they often do not use, to keep them alive, ie: seat belts, helmets etc.
