View Full Version : Rant: Dealership warranty coverage - Oddly inconsistent...

So about two weeks ago I was at Street performance where Jimmy told me that my passenger-side motor mount was broken. At this point I was at 99k on the odometer and called into QEW service to ask about warranty coverage, but was told that mounts were only covered until 60k. I suggested that perhaps the MAP coverage I had bought with the car might have adjusted for the difference, but was again told "no, 60k."

Fast forward to last night, I was speaking with someone who worked in another dealership and was told that he was almost sure that the coverage was for 120k.

I called into Westowne this morning to confirm this, and was met with a very abrupt "no, 100k only." When I said I was at around 101,000km at this point, it was again met with "nope, 100k, not covered."

A final call to Erin Mills Mazda (I know, I know, this is just for research though) had someone tell me that it was covered only up to 80k.

This is quite a wide gammut of coverage, unfortunately because of some bad advice from the QEW advisor (who are normally really good), I'm no longer covered if it is indeed 100k, and will have to pay out of pocket later this evening :(

a phone call will often net you nothing...

better off to go in to a service dept and plead your case in person.

They can't fix anything over the phone anyhow.

not sure who you spoke with but engine mounts are covered under Powertrain Warranty which is 60 months or 100,000km...
