Thanks! That's really helpful.

Seeing that makes me think that I would deffinitely not be able to do it myself (don't have some of the neccesary knowledge/soldering tools)

Is there anyone willing to do this for me $$$ ?

Someone who's generally handy (like Dan/McGuyver maybe?) would probably be capable of doing it... But since it's tricky work and failure can have expensive consequences you're probably going to have a hard time finding anyone willing to do it, or if they are willing it will be pretty steep.

Wish I could help more beyond those observations.

from my understanding McGuyver is who you should speak to, I was going to have him install angel eyes on my car but plans changed.

If you decide to go this route, you might want to buy a bunch of blank circuitboard and a pile of resistors (as cheap as you can find) - once you've soldered say, 250 of the them (ie. 500 points of solder) then give the real project a shot. By that point you should be pretty skilled with the iron and be able to finish the project without incident.

How about just purchase a 2012?

Seems they changed the cluster default colour for the new year.

Thanks for the tips.

If I take the interior and panels apart my dad said he would do the sodering for me!

Looks like this project will be happening after all!!

I was wondering if anyone can tell me where i can purchase the LED's to complete this project (and maybe the film also for the behind the display and knobs). I went to the 'Source' which used to be radio shack and the guy there said they don't sell LED's..he did refer to a site which I can't remember anymore...is there a store in the Toronto area anyone knows of or a website?!
also i know it must be posted somewhere but does anyone know the type of LED's or know where that's posted?! the more detail the better.
New member from Mississauga thanks guys :)
my name is Bart.

I actually bought mine off ebay they were pretty cheap but took about 3 weeks to get here!

Mine is a 2005 so I needed 21 of the large LED's and then I bought about 50 blue and 50 white of the extremely small LED's.
The 21 Large LED's are : SMD SMT PLCC-2 3528 1210 LED
The miniature LED's are : SMD SMT 0805
I also found it helpful to have some extra solder handy too.

Here is the link I used when I looked into changing my cluster (as posted below):

Hope that helps!

I live in New Zealand and have bought several sets of these for previous mods I've done to Xbox 360s. I just recently purchased some more so I can do the same thing mbooth is doing :)

First set arrived last Friday and now I'm waiting on the smaller 0805 so I can get started :D

Hi,
I am trying to replace the LEDs for the audio deck. I was wondering how to take the PCB out? The thee knobs (volume, tune, audio cont) are holding the PCB from coming out. Am I to remove the knobs by pulling on them forward? I have tried it and they wouldn't budge, but I don't want to apply too much force so i don't break the knobs. Thanks.
