Is it just me, or would it be sensible to put in a small barrier before users can post in the Dealership Experience section of the forum? Nothing as drastic as the classifieds, but maybe 10-20 posts?

PRO: This should prevent users (or individuals trying to deceive TM3) from creating new accounts solely to promote or criticize a business... It's very hard to gauge a user's authenticity or credibility when they register only for a singular purpose.

CON: Individuals above could simply make 10 low-value near-spam posts in order to reach the threshold before posting, which is probably worse than the status quo.

Thoughts? :S

EDIT: Son of a- ... Obviously meant to post this in Site Suggestions section and apparently mis-clicked. Could a mod please correct this idiot's mistake?

Not a bad Idea, I like it.

100 posts isn't a bad idea. If someone wants to register just to post bs. They will at least have to use the search feature.

Jeff propose an interesting idea in the admin lounge. Rather than a minimum number of posts, we could use a minimum number of days before a user could post in this section. Thinking 3-5 days, would provide a cooling off period.
Thoughts ?

Sound good to me.
I do think that should work for all reviews though. I've seen a couple nasty ones for SP as well. I don't think they were from new users but you never know.

Cooling off period sounds good. Then we won't have someone posting 10-20 +1, meaningless or angry posts just to get to post the same day.
