Actually on the main screen, there is another option beside the free play. I drove the Zonda and M5 V10!!!

The sense of speed and graphics are amazing. So hyped for this game!

The damage on GT5 is progressive though... as your Experience Level goes up, so does the appearance of damage. A far cry from realistic though, for sure. Might have to pick up an xbox again...

I can't wait till someone jumps in with both feet and makes a game that will ONLY work with a peripheral driving console... shifter, wheel, clutch, etc. If you burn out your clutch on the last lap of Lemans, you're SOL

and yeah you can look where you want when you drive. That would finally be something to get me to use cockpit view, im always hitting people beside me because i cant see them lol.

forza4 is really really promising so far, love the detail the graffics and the car selection (cobalt ss/turbo finally :D). next week will be a good one since im on reading week lol. those midterms will have to wait.

This is exactly what I was thinking. As long as you only have to turn your head a little ways in each direction (ie 5,10, maybe 15 degrees), then I can see it being okay, but still annoying.
Besides, who cares what is beside you, focus on the track ahead lol!

Maybe it's just because the guys at cscs suck, but even when they are drifting there isn't always smoke.
Plus, smoke effects are very intense on the cpu/gpu. sometimes you have to forego them so the game doesn't chug.

That being said, I loved GT 1-4. I felt as if GT5 was a step backward from GT4. My favourite was still GT 1 where you could "race modify" all of your cars!

No stand with the Speed Wheel. I was hoping that it would use the rechargeable battery packs that the gamepads use, but instead it uses two AA batteries. No bumper buttons either, gear shifting is done by the up and down directional buttons.

Its not hard at all..

If anything its easier on forza than on gt5

And you have a much bigger "map" on forza than on gt5, allowing you to actually go off course without hitting an imaginary wall...

The graphics on the test track look better on forza than gt5 IMO

Lovin it so far, head tracking works pretty well too. It is especially cool with the in car view.

The AI is much more of a challenge in this one compared to 3 but in a good way so far. I haven't thrown a controller yet but we'll see how I feel after a couple months.

pretty much i had to anticipate when the flame would come out. example. i would red line first gear to see if any back fires would occur if not i would go to the 2nd gear and do the same thing. i would repeat the steps until the desired back fire comes :D takes practice tho..for each car it took about 5 mins to get it right.

It works believe it or not. very well if i may ad. the car is on autopilot. it stops and goes according to the track line. all u have to do is steer. it reads it really well. i cant see it being used long tho lol my arms were toast after 5 laps @ tskuba. head tracking sucks, i couldnt get it to work at all. plus sitting there with an invisable steering wheel pretending to drive makes u look silly.

Thanks, I finally got it yesterday after like 60 tries. I just shifted and paused at the same time and you eventually get it :P way easier than me trying to rev the engine to do it.

Yeah, I didn't think the head tracking would work very well. Neat idea though

Trust me, learn to drive in this mode and you'll have soo much more fun when you get the hang of it.
Turn off abs, traction, all that crap (having the racing line on is fine, helps you learn the tracks easily imo), and you'll have lots more fun.

Level 27 now and simulation steering . Already hit 1 million credits woohoo

With traction and stuff off, it's really all about learning how to manage your throttle. Knowing when to let off the gas or when to pour more on. It's tricky at first, but sooo much fun when you get the hang of it.

Agreed... I was racing a bunch of 4WD cars with a 500 HP supra without traction control lol. It was a bitch to keep on the track but so much fun.

I set my racing line to braking only, having the full line I find I spend too much energy trying to stay perfectly on it, instead of focusing on the race. Personally, I only use the braking portions to help me learn the limits of the car (ie when the line is full red can I hold the corner or do I need to slow down until it starts to turn yellow, etc).

With traction and stuff off, it's really all about learning how to manage your throttle. Knowing when to let off the gas or when to pour more on. It's tricky at first, but sooo much fun when you get the hang of it.

Totally agree! Also makes the races closer because you no longer have the unfair advantage on turns.

oh yah..i lied it cost me $15k for the motor and $3k for the turbos so around $19k for the swap lol

Im not really good either, really I just powerslide lol. after practice it gets so easy you just look like a pro but not really haha. its good when we attempt drifting really close since we can concentrate on minimizing distance since the driftings 2nd nature now.. My friend found out about sim steering last night after he got pissed at all his cars for counter steering into the wall. Amazed he did as good as he did for that long.

^ there's 3 steering settings. Assisted, normal, and simulation. I use normal for drifting and simulation for everything else. I find normal not to be so twitchy making it better for drift.

ok...I've picked up an Xbox just for this. Still got the PS3/GT5, but I felt the need to chk out Forza 4....I'mm looking to pick-up a copy in the next day or two.

Any opinions about the Limited Edition vs. the standard edition? Are the extra cars worth $20? I'm leaning towards that at this point.

I'm not well-versed in Xbox-LIVE or the Auction House action...and my 20gb XBOX doesn't have wireless, so playing online or buying cars online isn't really a priority.

well xbox live is $60 for the whole year..isn't that bad. although futureshop/bestbuy have their promotion where they sell it off for $39.99 but by the time some people realize it they are already sold out :(. you can get the silver membership but i have no clue if you can download content with that...for the internet connection you can get a wireless adapter. i have original xbox and i bought it with the adapter..if you need one let me know..i can give you mine. i have a ethernet cable running into my room too :D

I get crazy tearing even on the start menu when using component cables...I also have my TV set to a mode that doesn't do compensation (digital input only).

controls are still the same. graphics wise there are some improvements as well as the sounds of the cars especially when modding them. In Career mode making money is hella easy. lol you can be a millionaire by level 10 or 12...
