View Full Version : Got hit by a truck

So on my way to work, i was passing a truck on the right side and as i reach the car, i see his blinker go on and he moved right into me.

Knocks me into the curb, i bounce off into his lane almost hit the guy in front of me, swerve back into the curb then stop in my lane

The lug nuts dug into my rear panel, door tire and rim. the hit on the curb gave big rash on my passenger rims and put a gouge into my front tire. My Suspension is most likely ****ed.

Hopefully the guy in the truck stopped and got the info?

I'm not going to judge as I have done it before because I've gotten fed up, but I always make sure not to pass on the right side, whether truck or car. It seems people that hog lanes always seem to want to move over when someone is passing them.

I hope all is well though.

Prob gonna be sore for the next few days, but i didn't hit myself on anything in my car well at least what i can remember, i was able to hold myself in and keep some control. The thing is i didn't go in the right lane to pass. I was just driving in the lane and slowly was passing him as we has going slow due to the guy in front of him.

It was Not an 18-wheeler but it was still a huge truck or Van truck like a large moving van. The marks on my car are from the nuts on the wheel. The guy stopped older gentleman was probably driving to make some side money on retirement. but he took all my info and gave me his then went down to the collision center then waited till i got there.

The lugnuts did a lot of damage so did the hits against the curb

As it looks right now, 3 rims and tires if not all 4. Door, Quarter panel, and some suspension pieces

Holy crap. That's messed up man. At least he did the right thing and stuck around.
Glad to hear you're okay (to an extent), please keep a very careful watch on your health, even the smallest "sore" or stiffness can be the signs of something worse, so don't dismiss anything.

I got a Charger as my rental, and i hate it. With the 3 you press down and it goes. this one, not soo much

LOL i know. When I got there the guy said he could try and get it ot me for the weekend (probably as a ***** wagon) but after going through my coverage the guy said i can get the charger it was that, or a SUV, pickup truck or minivan.

It's the limiter on the vehicle, and i need to push it hard to get quick speed, that and it's an auto. My 3 is a manual. I'm getting a bit more use to it but it just isn't as fun to drive as the 3. And when you read a lot of reviews of the 3 you hear the same thing, all other cars have better this better that, and looks better on paper, but the 3 is just more fun to drive.

So the insurance company decided to get it fixed.

They are going to replace:
whole quarter panel
rear driver side door
3 rims and tires
Possibly the suspension if there is damage

I kinda lucked out since it's gonna get rid of all the rust. the door had some rust too
I had my rims re-done in black and am trying to get the replacements finished as well
