Someone posted this up on FB. Thought I'd share. It's crazy the shit that goes on, and the stuff that cops get away with. Granted, some of these protesters may have had it coming to them, we don't see everything that led up to the pieces shown, but still; it's nuts the stuff that goes on. I'm not looking to start a political debate, or stir any pots. I just wanted to share this with everyone.

It's always gonna end up with violence when people protest in numbers like that. Don't feel at all sorry for those arrested and beaten up by the cops. You participate in these things you're just asking for it.
The first amendment is thrown out the door in these cases.

screw those stinking hippys and unemployed philosophy majors....they'll never change anything!
I'm no fan of police brutality (or police in general, by and large) and a lot of things in the world piss me off too, but positive change on the scale they speak of will not be enacted through uprisings on the street. They're better off trying to change the system from within - modifications to our financial infastructure need to be legislated, not forcibly imposed by the general public, most of whom dont understand the consequences of their beliefs. These corporations aren't breaking any laws, they're finding clever ways to exploit them in their favor - there's a big difference.
Pisses me off hearing people badmouth big business, while shamelessly toiling in the trappings of modern society. If they want to do away with large corporations they better also be willing to part with their cars, their cell phones, their TV's, the clothes off their back and all the other nice things they take for granted. Our very existence is contigent upon the success of businesses, small and large. Take that away whats left, communism? anarchy? What we have might not be perfect, but it aint so bad either...

anyways, sorry to highjack your thread....I've seen so many "activists" posting online and on my facebook and have wanted to vent for weeks, but held off until now lol. I'm not even sure if n00b is for or against this occupy stuff, its just my $0.02

These videos always get me worked up. Seeing the police beating people and being unnecessarily rough. But they are human, and they have a job to do. Do you think they want to be there? Probably not. But their job is to keep order, and sometimes that means proving a point and making examples. I'm also fairly certain that the Patriot Act in the U.S. allows people to be held for a certain amount of time without explanation... and it's specifically for cases like this.

I'm sure the majority of these protesters don't know the system well enough to know what changing it would mean or how it would be done. I'm also fairly certain that a lot of them don't even know what they're actually protesting... just "exercising their right to protest".

+1 to that in its entirety.
Personally I draw a parallel to the Stanley Cup riots in Vancouver, most of the rioters could care less about the game, just wanted to riot. Not the same scenario, I know, but there seems a connection there.

I'm not for, or against, this occupy stuff. I never really had much time to read up on it. A bunch of people on FB are going nuts over it, and I found this video. Thought I would share.

When are these "protesters" going to realize that sh*t doesnt work. Standing, yelling in the streets clogging the roadways, causing traffic and pissing people who have better things to do off is not helping with your point. Protesting does not change anything!!!

And for the people who get arrested and beat, well thats their own damn fault. Once the riot act is read and people are told to leave the area by the police they better leave, if they dont they get whats coming to them.
