Sorta Drunk/Idiot attempts to run me off the road

So I was driving home this evening and throughout the 3 hour drive there is this guy in a red pick up truck. His speed is constantly changing form 100-140. He for the most part is in the left lane not keeping to the right as you should on a highway. I think he's just a moron so I think nothing of it really.
So he is way ahead of me out of my sight for a good hour and he slows down so I pass. About 2 minutes after I have passed him he speeds up gets ahead of me in the left lane while I am in the right. He slows.. so as I am consistent with my speed I eventually catch him. Then he decides to sideswipe me. I lay on my horn.. move right a bit thinking he'll swerve back to the left. He continues to drive right.. I look over.. he's staring right at me. He continues into the right lane like I am not even there. I am almost in the ditch at this point. He finally slows and I am able to get ahead of him.
So I am like eff this noise.. Call the police.. 911 operator is worried if I am on a hands free device.. oh **** off. Anyways 2min down the road the cops pull him over. He has been drinking but not enough.. He gets away with a 24 hour suspension and a ticket for having alcohol in the vehicle near him.
I would consider this attempted murder. I wish I could charge the prick. !!!!!

What an "A"hole!!! I assume that you are physically alright but your nerves must have been shot. This may be a bit harsh but that DICK should have been shot on the spot. I hope very thing is ok?

The cops were super fast getting him. Good idea to call 911 on him. Not sure about this, but isn't it OK to call 911 on a your cell phone (ie not BT) if it's an emergency?

Best thing about this, nothing untoward happened to you. The perp may have gotten away with a 24 hour suspension but he may not be fortunate the next time around.

Yah I am fine.. just more outraged he doesn't get a stiffer fine. When someone is looking at you while sideswiping you.. you get the idea it was deliberate.
