Have had IPAD2 for 20mins as I did the new update and now the wifi has just stopped working. Have tried a restore but still doesn't work. When looking at the settings the wi-fi option is greyed out.

Looked online and its a problem that many people are having :bang

Head into the apple store. They will either fix it or replace it on spot.

Have you tried a hard reset. I don't know the process for iPad 2 but for iPad it's something like " hold power and home for 10 s, release home for 10 s and then release power. " look it up.

give it back to the store for full refund
and get a new sealed box
instead of apple refurb crap

I was gonna ask why he even had to do the upgrade as the new ones come equipped with iOS5.

I agree with this - take it back for a refund and get new......

Getting a warranty replacement at the apple store will only get you a product in clear plastic casing (for iphones anyway). After replacing my iPhone for the 3rd time in under a year, I asked them if these were brand new from factory and why they didn't come in the regular box. They said those are the ones they have to use for replacements and that "some are new some are refurbished", but they aren't sure which ones are which.

Lame.

lol more like all of them are refurb, and they tell you some are new just to make you feel better. Haha maybe the 3rd phone you got was the refurb of the first one! jksjks

Got my iPhone 4 replaced last night. Had it for about 4 months, but the battery seemed to be crapping on me. The girl said she can't figure out why and said the battery was fine.... still replaced it for me when a "brand new" one. Pretty good customer care IMO.

Just checked the serial and doesn't start with 5K, so I can assume it's a new one and not refurbed?

I had something similar happen when I tried to upgrade my iPod Touch 4 to the new o/s. Instead of a smooth transition, the iPod was bricked with a 1611 error. Repeated attempts to restore ended with the same result. Fortunately I had multiple systems at my disposal and the restore worked on another computer.

For some reason my original system suddenly failed to load the Apple Mobile dLL which caused the 1611 error. It was resolved with the deletion of the device driver and using a different USB socket. Oddly enough, the initial USB socket started to work again after the dLL was re-installed.
Apple my @$$....just as reliable as Windows 95................................

=/ As soon as anything newer than 4.3.3 is in, you won't be able to jailbreak it
