I was just on hwy7 near 404 and a Mazda6 with red and blue lights inside it pulled a car over. It looks like a completely stock on the outside.

Wow using imports.. very odd.. In Alberta we have Ford Trucks, Dodge Rams, Impalas, Crown Vics, Chargers, Caravans and explorers as ghost vehicles. May I mention all 2007 and up... Poor police having no budget.. being able to drop that kind of cash on brand new ghost vehicles.. which 95% of the time are spent looking for people who speed.

it's not odd. When you see an all black or all brown Tahoe, you kinda think its a police car. Same with crown vics, chargers and all those other north american vehicles.

But a silver nissan maxima? not so much.

halton has a white crown vic outfitted in taxi decals, complete with a roof sign (only the number is for the police). only way to discern it from the real thing is from close up (missing hubcaps, side mirror spotlight).

Using Mazdas for policing duties isn't new globally, although that's the first time I've heard of it in Canada. Mazda won a contract to supply police vehicles to the UK a while back:

http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/showthread.php?49109-New-Wheels-for-the-British-Police-Mazdas

The Mazdaspeed3 (Mazda3 MPS) was planned to be used as a highway chase vehicle.

Although personally I was more entertained by the prospect of seeing these on the road...

This is the one you've gotta watch out for. Please don't try to run.

we've seen someone pulled over downtown by a horse.

the cop sat on the horse, wrote the ticket, reached in and gave it to the guy....

I'd rather get pulled over by a yaris, as if the type of car that pulls you over is any more embarrassing than being pulled over in the first place.

Gauteng plates? They now have this in South Africa? I guess it makes sense as speed limits are almost non-existent. Throughout the region despite of the 120 speed limit, every other person just floors it the moment they pass the speed trap zones :chuckle
