Hi everyone,

Here is what happened:

- lowered BC coilovers all the way down in the front (with extreme drop kit) in May 2011
- over summer, I guess the tires were rubbbing on hard dips/bumps
- the constant rubbing resulted in a hole being created at the top of the fender liner (driver and passenger side)
- this hole expose sharp metal where the fender and frame join
- this sharp metal sliced my inner sidewall of the front passenger tire open clean almost the entire way around as I was making a turn
- rims are 18x8 and tires are 225/40. Bought new tire.

What have ppl done to work around this? I see some super low hellaflush Mazda3s on 18s, but what do you do to avoid this metal problem? Any suggestions? What have you done?

People hammer that pinch weld flat or cut it off.

I'm not sure that metal would slice your inner sidewall. Most people with damage from the pinch weld have it right in the center.

My liners have the holes but my tires are fine, I only rub in the winter on certain bumps.
