View Full Version : Automatic transmission shifter won't move from Park
I need your help guys.
My car's automatic shifter won't move from Park position. The horn won't work as well and I don't know if they are related to each other.
I had the car towed to dealership last night and finally had a chance to look at it just now.
Got a call from the dealership and they are telling me that it was my LED reflector lights that are causing the problem since it tap in to the tail lights which I find it odd since the tail lights are still working fine.
I appreciate your help and opinion about this problem.
Thanks.

They are indeed related. You have a blown fuse, and it is likely continuing to pop from your LED reflectors. Moisture is known to get into the reflectors, and cause a short. I had this very issue on my 04 sedan. It is not so much your reverse lights, as your brake lights. The one fuse that handles the horn is also your brake lights. If the brake/reverse lights do not engage, the car will not come out of park as a safety measure.

Thanks Ami.
I asked the dealer to cut the wires going to the LED reflectors if that would make any difference and help them in troubleshooting.

I had to do something similar. Well, actually, I had the car at Lockdown to diagnose the issue. Once we disabled the LED reflectors, we replaced the fuse, and everything worked fine again.
