Modern Warfare 3. For those that have it, what do you think so far?

Only played the campaign so far after picking it up yesterday night. Did manage about an hours worth of game time but its pretty sweet. Smooth graphics (60fps FTW), tight gameplay. Guns feel good and accurate.

Will jump into the multi player later this week. Can't wait.

I actually played the campaign yesterday. I'm about 10% complete (I think) because I was trying to do it in hard mode (good practice for multiplayer). IMO, the gameplay is really great and the story line is pretty good.. So far, I've already decided on my favorite gun - M4 + red dot + scope (I can't remember the exact name of the accessories - this was the gun used in NYC). AK-47 is crap as usual and the MP5 just doesn't have enough kick... Looking forward to using the other guns soon. :)

Yup, something I learned on the way.. I was trying to not use the grenades and FBs, just to practice more on aiming properly and getting comfortable with the sensitivity. I figured, it would be good practice before I jump into the multiplayer. I remember, I kept dying on MW2, that's why I stopped playing it. :chuckle

But honestly, this game can really get you hooked. Kudos to the makers! :thumbsup

Have you tried Zombie Gunship on the iphone? You man a ac 130 guarding a bunker from zombie infestation. For 99 cents, its amazing!

jumped right into the multiplayer, will do the campaign stuff over the weekend if I get time ( aka, if the wife lets me lol ) although obviously graphics are a hell of a lot better it just feels alot like MW2( as it should ) but I always have a week or so acustomization period when i switch from one to another COD- MW2-BLACK OPS-MW3 takes me a while to get used to it. over all love it.

might end up getting battlefield 3 as well as I played it at my sister in laws ( hijacked my nephews PS3) and i was very very impressed.

If you have PS3 then it's worth it considering the crap lag controls. 60fps is sweet and even though COD is not a realistic game, I enjoy it.

BF3 is a great game dont get me wrong, but it was rushed to release ahead of MW3 to generate the sales. There's still some work that needs to be done on it. Other than that it's up to the type of player you are. If you're a run and gun player then COD is your game.

Don't do it! Give it a couple more days.. It could just be the connection because people are flooding the servers.. It's a really good game and if I had a choice, I'd combine, BF3 and MW3 together for the ultimate FPS. :chuckle

It's not the servers really Phil. I do actually expect them to hold that many people because they knew how many people would be playing first day.
My main problem lies with the quality of the internet in my current house. The only time I can get even a half decent game in is when all my roomies are either asleep or not home and therefore totally off the net. The second even one of them decides they wanna use the net = my connection goes to shit.

Also, I got to level 21 last night, turned it off, then this morning I'm level 8? no thanks.

So its pretty mcuh like most sports games with yearly updates, God of War, Gears, Drakes Fortune, most racing series, etc. BF will do the same thing with number 4. EA is no better than Activision or any other publisher.

You are correct, due to copywrite law you cannot returned any open media unless its defective and only then can you exchange it for the same item.

Anyways, I love playing through the story mode in every game and although people ragged on Black Ops for its shitty multiplayer, its single player campaign was fantastic! I find the multiplayer just something to add extended value to the game after I'm done with the campaign. So far I like the MW2 campaign, there are a lot of fun parts and it continues the story that was left off in the last modern warfare.

After it's done, I went on to multiplayer and guess what, that "beating the game in hard mode" thing didn't help! First spawn, 30 seconds later, got killed by a guy in level 30! WTH! :bang It'll get better I hope. :chuckle

I had absolutely no issue with the Black ops multiplayer mode. i rather liked it, it did come off as a bit cartoonish at first but i got used to it quick.

Lining a head shot & online getting a hit marker. The campaign & spec-ops are the only good things, but even the spec-ops is glitchy.

it doesnt surprise me on 360. I took full advantage of that hit detection on Black ops with my sniping. Half of my kills I actually hit them with the bullet lol.

LOL....I was a lowly 1 and a majority of players were level 25+. A couple already ranked up.

Not true, if the game is unopened and you have the receipt you can return it for whatever you paid. Why would they keep 20-25 bucks if they game isnt even opened and they can easily resell it? Source - working at futureshop for 4 years.

Yeah hit detection is the cross hairs that appear when you shoot at someone. Through all the cod games hit detection has never been perfect, and never will. Unless you can get 12 people in the game with perfect connections there will always be a small bit of lag that causes bullets to look like they missed, and still kill you. COD isnt the only game that suffers from this either. Also, people complained about the sniping in Black Ops because it was essentially nerfed and you had to be really good to actually kill someone with a rifle. In MW3 sniping is back to being easy again and it is somewhat annoying, until I grab my sniper and ruin their fun :)

What you are referring to then is Trade in values. But you can only trade games in at Futureshop/Bestbuy or Gamestop. Places like walmart, sears, zellers, etc... dont do trade ins and wont give you Jack if the game is open.

Game has been fine for me on Xbox Live so far. Made it to level 21. Bullet detection issues are minimal, but still evident. Doesn't make it un-playable or anything. Last night there were over 800,000 people online, and it ran smooth. Still needs servers though. If Epic can afford it, Activision sure can!

I prefer this over team death match, because it forces campers to come out to collect the tags. Sure, there are some that will use them as bait and still camp, but there are less in this scenario than team death match

the campaign was GREAT though, literally couldn't stop until I finished it on veteran :) wasn't as hard as I had hoped though

Ya I see this too especially in Search and Destroy. They do it cause they dont want to risk dying and losing their kill streak. So they take the loss so they can call in the UAV for the next round. I get it, but its also annoying.

Its either the shield or the gatling gun bro...if you have the shield you basically just support ur teammates...u go infront as a decoy to the enemies while ur teammates shoots dem n shit while being behind you..

And if u get the gatling gun...well ur pretty much just like IRON MAN...a walking war machine if u know wut i mean ;)

Something doesn't click in MW for me, i swear all the skill I accumulate amounts to nothing in the mw series, other than the first one. So i've gone back to black ops and omg its so easy now that the try hards are all in mw3 :D

You gotta switch your guns up. Use a gun you havent used before so that your gun ranks up - as it ranks up, you get additional XP for all the challenges you completed.

I only got to play for about 90 minutes yesterday and went from a 76 to 77 just by using new guns.

For example...you lvled urself to lvl 40 then u finished playing...then next time u play u see your lvl went back to lvl 25....WTF?

Anybody tried Spec Ops? That survival game's awesome. Although, AI seems a bit stupid because they can't even shoot properly even if you're just in front of them... I'm almost dying and still manage to kill of 3 enemies. :chuckle

Stick with the campaign until you get better and can play on 2nd hardest difficulty, then you will be ready for online. You playing online right now and getting 0 kills and 20 deaths is doing nobody any good and just pisses your allies off.

I didnt know theres Nuke in the game! I just got it last night..its a secret killstreak when you get 25 kills without dying...its called "MOAB - Mother Of All Bombs"

Pretty sick....but it doesnt end the game like MW2...everyone is EMP'ed and you get double xp while on the game....and the surroundings is pretty much red..

try using specialist, u get 4 extra perks after 8 kills. cant be touched :D plus 1887 shotty is one shot kill with damage perk on, just takes 4ever getting to lvl 28. :D

That's awesome! I got up to level 33 or 34 today...kinda hard to keep my KDR above 1.4 with my roommates playing as well :(

I don't know what it is with COD.. maybe I've just played the shit out of the last ones (except Black ops.. sold it after 2 days, I was disappointed with that game, except zombies :)) When I was deciding whether I wanted mw3 or bf3 I was watchin videos and mw3 just didn't do it for me. It looked too similar to the last 4 releases.
So half my friends went bf3, half went mw3. I'm lovin battlefield, the sound fx make make me feel like I'm watching band of brothers or something. Crank that surround sound!

i usually use ACR
stinger for extra pts

scavenger pro (reload time on ACR is lowest on all ARs so no need for SOH)
hardline for assault or assassin for support
marksmen
semtex, switched to concussion
care package/pred/heli

i've heard that alot of people think ump/mp7 is best....I tried running UMP for a while but I can't get used to it - recoil goes high quickly even with kick, and once you start getting shot you can't aim anymore even with focus. maybe I'm playing with them wrong

I just got golden M4A1 and I'm now going through G36C.. I got blind eye (for back stabbing :chuckle), hardline, steady aim... Hand gun as my secondary (P99).. Frag and concussion.. UAV, airstrike and attack heli.

I run with the SCAR L (currently gold). Ive prestiged 5 times now I think. So far have gotten the golden PPM901, Type 95, M4A1 and another one that im forgetting.

I usually run demo with Semtex, Concussion. Stinger. Quick Draw, hardline pro and sleight of hand.

I try not to throw a heli up as too many people shoot em down. So I do care package, Strike and then reaper.

Bumping - any elite members get the maps on Tuesday?

I caved and got elite last night for the two maps - they are alright. Hoping to share the cost of the upgrade with a friend if he can go in and update to elite on his PS3 with my account.

Level 10 prestige and I still cant quick scope :(

The new maps come out on March 20th i believe for non elite users on xbox live. 3 maps and 2 spec ops missions.
