This was actually mannys best opponent in years.

I've always said it - all his other fights to date have been hand picked, paycheck fights. Marquez (and a younger Ricky Hatton) are the only ones that happen to stump PacMan.

This was prolly Pacmans most challenging fight...they could have given Marquez a win and i still would have thought it was a fair decision or vice versa..Im glad Pacman won though lol...A lot of people thought pacman lost the fight ..and I think its because people are just not used to seeing Pacman get hit like that.. just saying lol :D

It was a good fight. Very challenging for Pac. I think it will be a wake up call for him vs counter punchers.
Even if Marquez won, I would have accepted that and honestly I did feel it was more a draw.

Very intense fight. I love how technical and calculated the fight was. Marquez was a good match up for Pacquiao and it was a real close fight, but in an event that big, counter punching isn't going to win it unless you knock the guy out or severely injure him...

Like I commented on Facebook and Twitter, unless someone gets knocked out..... I found it to be a lost night of being able to sleep early. I found his last 3 fights (including this one) to be not impressive. Was greating watching them trade shots, but would have been more entertaining if someone.... anyone.... got knocked down.

first one was a draw, second was a split decision for Pac Man.. and this one was very very close, althought i didnt get to see it i will definitely catch it soon enough.

all this being said, I dont think Pac can beat Mayweather, don't get this wrong I'm not a mayweather fan and i would love to see someone knock his cocky ass out but all being said, i think pac would have a hard time with the best defensive and counterpuncher probably in the history of boxing.

MANILA, Philippines – Did Juan Manuel Marquez use dirty tactics against Manny Pacquiao during their third bout last Saturday?

A YouTube video shows the Mexican boxer stepped on Pacquiao's foot at least 5 times during their 12-round WBO welterweight title match last Saturday (Sunday in Manila).

The foot stomp is an old boxing trick used to stop a boxer in his tracks during a fight. This prevents a boxer from stepping forward when he is attacking his opponent.

This also hampers a boxer from stepping away when he is defending himself from his opponent.

Some of the foot stomping took place in Rounds 6, 7 and 8, which Marquez reportedly led on points.

Marquez also stomped on Pacquiao's foot twice in Round 12.

Despite the alleged stomping, Pacquiao got away with a majority decision, a result deemed by many in the boxing community as a mistake.

By accident?
Boxing scribe Brad Cooney of Examiner.com said that at first, he suspected that the foot stomping may have been accidental.

Conney said this is typical in boxing matches between an orthodox and a southpaw fighter.

“When I first heard about this I was a bit suspect because whenever you have a southpaw fighting an orthodox fighter, from time to time the feet can get tangled up,” he said in his article.

Cooney, however, pointed out that the foot stomping happened 5 times.

“It's obvious that JMM steps on Manny's foot several times throughout the fight. It's not just one round either. When looking at the video of the fight, it's clear that JMM steps on Manny's foot in rounds 6, 7, 8, and twice in round 12. By accident? Maybe, but not probable. I can see if it was once or twice, but JMM stepped on Manny's foot 5 times at least,” he said.

In his Twitter account, Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach also addressed the issue.

"Marquez was consistently stepping on Manny's foot, could that cause cramps?" LuckyLindy21 asked Roach.

"No, very common when southpaws face right handers," Roach responded.

Pacquiao said after the fight that he suffered from cramps starting in the 2nd round, which affected his balance and in-and-out movement.

This isn't the first fight it was pointed out that Manny's foot is getting stepped on (ie. VS Mosley). I personally think it's accidental and, like Road said, "very common" for his stance against an orthodox fighter.

If its accidental then what was marquez drinking... He wasn't drinking water... the email i received had this foot stomp article as well as pictures showing he was drinking something in an orange colour.
