COBB Tuning is excited to announce new developments for the MAZDASPEED community. The COBB Tuning AccessPORT is the first OEM ECU tuning solution for the 2012 MAZDASPEED3, giving owners of the newest MAZDASPEED3 the same level of power and control enjoyed by previous model year owners. Our AccessTUNER software has also been updated to allow custom tuning by both professional tuners and DIY tuners alike. In addition, all of COBB Tuning has released a huge Off-The-Shelf calibration update, at no additional cost, that includes support for more intakes, improved post-shift performance, and boost targeting logic implemented on all model years of MAZDASPEED3 and MAZDASPEED6! Read on for more details about the work COBB Tuning is doing to make sure the AccessPORT is the most comprehensive tuning solution for MAZDASPEED performance enthusiasts.

2012 MAZDASPEED3 AccessPORT
The MAZDASPEED AccessPORT is now shipping with full 2012 MAZDASPEED3 support (http://cobbtuning.com/products/?id=6013), preloaded with Off-The-Shelf maps to get new users up and running with the push of a button. All MAZDASPEED AccessPORTs (AP-MAZ-002) can be updated for free to support the 2012 MAZDASPEED3 with a simple firmware upgrade (http://cobbtuning.com/info/?id=6175).

The 2012 MAZDASPEED3 AccessPORT will enable the same Boost Target Logic tuning released earlier this year, as well as have access to the massive database of free Off-The-Shelf maps with support for 13 different intake types and over 160 maps to choose from.

2012 MAZDASPEED3 AccessTUNER
Both AccessTUNER Race (http://cobbtuning.com/products/?id=5984) and AccessTUNER Pro (http://cobbtuning.com/products/?id=5985) tuning software packages have been updated to support the 2012 MAZDASPEED3. 2012 MAZDASPEED3 owners can bring their car to a professional tuner for a custom tune to maximize power output. Experienced self-tuners can download a free copy of AccessTUNER Race and make modifications to their own calibrations.

Both software packages have access to our database of Off-The-Shelf maps. These are great starting points for your custom tunes. Existing AccessTUNER users can update their existing software to the latest version following these Step-By-Step Software Update Instructions (http://cobbtuning.com/info/?id=6176).

MAZDASPEED Off-The-Shelf Map Updates
All 1st and 2nd Gen MAZDASPEED3 and all MAZDASPEED6 maps (http://www.cobbtuning.com/info/?ID=4332) have been updated to v2.10 and v2.00, respectively. Now all three platforms are tuned with Boost Target Logic for improved performance and consistency. Every platform now has free Off-The-Shelf maps for 13 different intake configurations, as well as maps for other common modifications, such as; turbo inlet hoses, intercoolers, downpipes and exhausts. Furthermore, these maps also include fixes to eliminate post-shift stutter and post-shift lean conditions some vehicles are experiencing. In all, over 160 maps are available for MAZDASPEED3’s and MAZDASPEED6’s, by far the largest selection of plug-and-play calibrations for the MAZDASPEED direct injection engine!

Just a tip...

When you update ATR, it updates the Helpfile as well...ACCESS it under HELP....lol...

for DIY tuners, pay close attention to Cobb's piece on boost tuning. in fact, in its current iteration, ATR is basically boost tuning with active LOAD tables. Not using the LOAD tables [norm BAT] may make tuning more simplistic, but it neuters the ECU's ability to correct boost. This is esp tru with upgraded and faster acting EBCS.

Something also of interest is their discussion of the porting of the internal WG port.

so i was reading through the cobb forum and thinking, yeah, like it would be the usb cable's fault. yeah, like plugging it into another usb port would work. ok

then i realized everytime i assume something like that, im usually wrong. And guess what, plugging into another usb worked. yeah....

My ATR couldn't update due to the anti-virus software. All is good now.

updated without issue. had to uncheck beta and try twice with ATR though.

Furthermore, these maps also include fixes to eliminate post-shift stutter and post-shift lean conditions some vehicles are experiencing.
hmm, no more farty part-throttle shifts?

Mine still does, took a while for the car to learn the map.

the new V210 Stage 2 map didn't come with 1:1 throttle, in the APP translation tables. I adjusted mine, but I think I missed the neutral table.

was it supposed to come set at 1:1?

Fobio
11-21-2011, 11:59 AM
actually, I've noticed quite a few discreprancies.

1. Not all app tables are the same...various OTS maps have different settings.

2. Some maps have zero'd out LEC tables. This is particularly dangerous.

3. I don't think neutral should be 1:1. Pay attn to the OTS curve.

I currently have the 1:1 setup on the APP setup and can't stand it. I bog 99.999% of the time during take off.

Throttle response seems flat at very light pedal inputs. If I push the pedal down a little further to get more gusto out of the acceleration and maintain that pedal position for a little too long, the car turns on the afterburners at 3K RPMs and rockets forward like it wants to kill me.

sounds like you have some issues. haha. Thanks for stopping by yesterday along with fast_dude.

Fobio,

I will have another look at the throttle tables when I get home. I knew I should have brought my laptop to work.

It's always a good idea to run thru all the tables before saving, esp the ones you never expect to change...I'll continue to monitor the chatter down south.

I have many more question and would like to pick your brains again.
