Here is a challenge for someone.
I have an '06 Hatch that came with rain sensor and standard rear view mirror. I bought, from eBay, an autodim mirror that was supposedly from an '04 Mazda3. It also came with the wiring harness.
It arrived yesterday and I installed it. No problem with the basic power and ground wiring - I did that. Once I powered it up I saw that it is also a compass and ambient temperature mirror.

The compass is not a problem - I will calibrate that and it should be fine. It is the ambient reading that I am looking for help with.
The harness has a black and a black/green wire that I assume (due to the length) are for the under hood outdoor temperature sensor. I didn't get that sensor. Can I tie into the existing Info Center wiring to get that ambient reading or should I try to get another outdoor sensor?
If I can tie into the existing, which wires are they that send the reading to the Info Center?

no, you need the separate sensor

Is there no way to tie in to existing?

Not really, no.

Any idea where I can find (aside from oem) one, and what they are worth?

Almost guaranteed that Gentex made the mirror, so a bit of work with Google should do the trick......

I thought I read "Donnelly" on the backside, but I will search both to see where I end up.
thanks.

I picked up another sensor off of eBay and now all is operating properly.

Excellent! How hard was it to run the wiring?

Not to bad.
I made it from the mirror down the drivers side "A" pillar, down to the kick panel and out through a plastic plug. From there I went along the drivers fender to the area behind the drivers side headlight and then down to the lower grille. It pobably didn't take me 30 minutes to run it.
