Stick shift car defeats would-be carjackers
ASSOCIATED PRESS
ST. PETERSBURG, FLA.—Two carjackers gave up trying to steal a 2007 Nissan when they discovered that the car was a stick shift.
The St. Petersburg Times reports that a man and his girlfriend were leaving his workplace early Friday morning when two men pulled a handgun. The assailants said if the couple didn’t get out of the car, they would shoot.
The men then jumped into the car and started it, but didn’t get far. Police say the carjackers couldn’t drive stick, so they gave up and ran away.
Authorities are investigating.

not sure what was more traumatic, having a gun stuck in your face or watching someone who can't drive stick just popping, braking, and grinding the gears in your tranny for a couple a hundred feet.. ( makes me shudder just thinking about it ) lol

lol they clearly didn't read the job description of a car thief. maybe they didn't want a car and had some ulterior motive.

I remember the valet driver that didn't know how to get my VW into reverse. I kicked him out and parked it myself.
