Carefully. Wait until spring to lower it.

Almost everyone's car here is lowered in some fashion.
Depending on how you want to lower your car can be a deciding factor.
Coilovers - Save a winter on them and wait till spring
Springs - Pretty safe to install them whenever.
Most people will say just wait until spring.

My car isnt lowered, but i agree with these guys when they say wait. In the winter theres all the salt and sand on the road that does not good to those components.
Also, its winter...noone can tell your car is lowered anyway :P wait till spring

i change my springs twice a year stechs in the summer for lowered and stock mazdaspeeds in the summer on my 08 sedan works well for me to avoid snow buildup in the wheel wells and to plow through drifts.
Ive been wanting to put my springs on as well, but youre better off just waiting it out!

Not everyone lol - I'm waiting for my stock suspension to blow (almost 200k now), then I'll join that club :chuckle
But yea, as a lot of people have already stated, it would be ideal to wait until Spring to lower your car but as long as you drive carefully you should not encounter any problems in winter driving from lowering it.
P.S - Dave's snowplowing picture is hilarious.
Yea man just wait it out even till march cause this year we dont really know wht jan and feb have in stock
Im getting my self tein stech from a member lol dont know if i wud be able to hold of till spring usually i love winter but
first time im wishing it wud go away soon hehe

I noticed one thing about my winter wheel setup and my lowering springs, compared to the summer tires (ms3 gen 1 215/45/18) which are stiffer, the overall feel of the car is very very soft. Probably because of the bigger sidewall winter tires. I could just still be getting used to the new setup, but the soft feeling is always there.

Everyone on my street loves how low my car is. I live on a court so I'm nice enough to plow a path for my neighbours.

Snow? What the hell is that? We've got rain right now in the Niagara region.

I'm lowered about 2" (manufacturer's spec) and i have no probs driving in the winter, provided that you drive cautiously. One thing that sucks for me are those small clumps of dirty ice that get stranded in the middle of the road. No matter how small they are, I always hear a scrape *shudder* from driving over them.
Otherwise, i dont' really notice that much of a diff between winter and summer driving.

WORST thing about winter man. Some of them really sound nasty when they grind against my underbody

Ok So I turned up my stereo and went ice chunk hunting. Needless to say, many scrapes later, I can still hear it on top of the stereo. lol
Does this mean I need to turn up the volume even higher?
