US Currency is Ugly!

Title says it all: US currency U-G-L-Y.

This ugly POS is the new $100 bill for instance:

Apparently some Americans feel the same way I do though, and some enterprising individuals have taken it upon themselves to create proposals for new currency designs (http://richardsmith.posterous.com/).

Retains the traditional "green" look to American bills, while at the same time making them much classier and more modern looking.

I don't like how all the bills are the same colour, so u can't tell right away from looking at it how much it's worth.

Fair point, although it's still an improvement over the current set of reserve notes.

Perhaps they could extend the coloured bar along the top and bottom edge of the bill (making a rotated "H" shape of sorts), so that you can see the different denominations more quickly, such as while flipping through a wallet.

If you watch How I Met Your Mother, I'm sure Barney will definitely disagree with that new design. Honestly though, Canadian money looks like monopoly money with all the different colours and stuff. I say they should just keep the current design, after all, it's already been like that for the past hundreds of years.

Dude have you ever used American money!? It is monopoly money. Very elongated thin. The feel of it is cheap. All a pale green. Canadian money is much much better.. Plus we are now introducing the cool polymer stuff which doesn't tear.
200 dollar bills useless...

It's not awful.
But it's just paper... who really cares what it looks like? I honestly can't believe people spend their time complaining about improvements made to currency
