Any idea if I can do it with my 07 sedan? Otherwise I might need to borrow a van from a willing soul :P

Why not rent a van from UHaul for less than 4 hours you can get it for $19.95 probably your best bet my friend!

How big. With box a 42 fits in the back seat but it's tight.

Do what I did, take it out of the box, wrap the tv in cloth or blanket.

you can simply pay for shipping? At FS and BB, isn't all sales over $20 free shipping?

HB's FTW! Managed to bring home my 42 inch tv in the box which made it larger than it was!
When we had to get my friends 65 inch tv moved, he bought something at Home Depot, rented the HD van for $20. When we were done the move, went back and returned the item he bought to Home Depot for a refund!
My 46 lcd fit on my sedan...

Make sure the tv is transported vertically as horizontally could damage the tv.

I thought this was only the case for plasmas?

It's a 60" LED screen

I just might have to do that. I gotta see if I have an old comforter somewhere

It's not at a FS/BB unfortunately - it's a small independant store, and i'm fairly certain shipping would cost me more than the savings i'd enjoy :P
The store is around Markham too, so it'd be a long drive home!

Better safe then sorry anyways. I'm sure a good 60 inch would fit without box and stand. ( stand is usually put on after removing it from the box)

Yeah, i'm hoping it'll fit without a box but I'm not so sure I can keep it upright as opposed to horizontal.

You should be able to. Jut bring a tape measure.
P.s.
A little trick. Unhook the middle seatbelt ( like you would if you were folding the seat down) and use it to keep the tv from falling forward during transport.

^^ Good tip, thanks.
I was reading a bit more into the horizontal/vertical thing, and it's as I thought - LCDs/LED-LCDs don't need to be vertical.

I just decided to do some measurements for you. It's gonna be tight.
Assuming the frame around the 65" from corner to corner ( ratio from a 42")
That would make the vertical Height of the tv without stand 35"
From seat to door frame you can easily fit 30" but with some angle can get 42" in ( I've done it. )
The problem arises that from the seat to the roof of the car is 36" again assuming the tv sits flat against the back of the seat. So the doors and the angle the tv would have to be put in the car could clash and make it not fit.
You MIGHT fit the tv.

... Too much math :P So I "may" be able to fit it... Hmm....

Mathematically yes.
Its the angle the door opens that might screw you.
I'm a little drunk and kinda wanted to pull out my college training. Lol.
Good luck.

I had to take it out of the box - the opening from the trunk to the cabin of the car was too small. Without the box though, it fit just fine :)
This is why hatches are the best
I got a 50 inch plasma in the back, no issues

I was able to fit my 55" Samsung LCD (in its box) in the back of my hatch. Not sure what would fit in my Sportage SX. 80"? Dare to dream! :D

It was bloody cold outside so manouvering was a bit of a pain, but there was clearance on both sides. There was plenty of foam under the screen to support it, and i've tested it out since.

My 47" in the box almost fit into my Mini Cooper. Trunk ALMOST closed.
It fit in my dad's Altima sedan just fine.

Nice job. This is why I question why I have a sub sometimes. Bloody box takes up half the trunk so it's as good as having no trunk because I cant store much things in there
