New 2012 Mazda 3 Skyactiv Sport - Mississauga

Purchased back in Mid-Dec 2011 but spent the last few weeks getting a few changes made before posting.

First off, thanks to everyone on these forums for the great knowledge-base.

In December I got the tints done (35% front, 20% rears) and a Venture Shield clear bra from Audio Heaven.

Nav system is the Rosen I got direct from the dealer when I got the car. It's got a few quirks and no traffic info (grrrr) but looks great in the car.

I made a run to eShine in Port Colborne and picked up some Opti-Seal and ONR and got the car washed and sealed this weekend with the nice weather.

Long time Civic owner and really enjoying the new Mazda, it drives like a dream. Only 2000 km on it so far and averaging about 8.6 L/100 KM (mostly highway) and hoping this will drop to the 5.1-7.1 L/100 KM specs being advertised after breaking in.

Thanks again for the hints/tips and suggestions on the forums which have really helped in my decision making.

Welcome, I notice you got the GT wing on your skyactiv was that an upgrade? Cause yours is the first skyactiv I've seen with that wing.

Navi is great while driving. I got the iPhone/iPod hookup so I can pick genre/artists/album etc and change tracks while using the NAV which is pretty accurate. Separate volume levels for your music and NAV too so you can keep the music loud and verbal notifications from the NAV low or vice-versa. Map updates are about $20 right now but last map update was last January. Hope that changes...

I also have the iPhone 4S and after paired via Bluetooth, I can give Siri commands, send text messages, etc while driving.

Cons:

- Cost
- Radio is a bit ugly and RDS information is only 10 characters so there is a lot of text scrolling. Kinda ridiculous on a 8" display
- No album art
- Cost
- No traffic information unless you get the Sat package. My $50 Garmin has this...
- Did I mention cost?

Back-up camera was another $250 I think which included the Sirus radio. Wasn't really interested after playing close to $2000 tax in for the stereo (yes it wasn't cheap).

You can buy this camera $27 from ebay and hook it up to become your back-up camera
