So havent had time to actually post up a formal review till now.

Had my winter MS6 rims powdercoated by Kenex Coatings. AMAZING work, great guys to deal with and they had awesome customer service.

They chemical dipped the rims (did not want to have them sandblasted as sandblasting aluminum rims usually leads to pitting, unless you want to spend the extra cash on having specific media to blast with).

Now the rims were spray painted (black by the previous owner, then orange by me in a fail attempt. Had issues with 2 types of paint (clear coat and the actual paint) reacting to eachother and causing bubbling). They prepped and cleaned the rims for me and then powdercoated them and clear coated them as well.

The work is fantastic as said above it was chemical stripped, powdercoated then clearcoated.

They had a 4day turn around time at the time that I went in, and they also had the orange in stock too.

All in all costed me $400 for everything in. I would DEFINATLEY recommend them. I'll be taking my summer rims to them as well to get coated when time comes.

Heres there info incase anyone wanted to talk to them directly.

Wow thats some nice work. Was it a Matte finish? On your 2nd pic where they were hanging your rims, is that dust/dirt? Also, funny how they are not far away from Metal Coaters. Where did you hear about them?

That looks great! Was $400 their general price or is it rim specific? I was looking to paint my Snowflakes white instead of plasti dipped. For that price though I think powder coat might be the better avenue.

It had been out of the oven for about 20 minutes, the dude on the side of the shop (not in the pic) was doing some sanding work and hence there some dirt. I wanted kinda a 'semi gloss' kinda look. I didnt want them to be super shiny but I didnt want them totally flat. I got a bit of sheen to it which I wanted. I actually searched around and went to 3-4 different powdercoating places. Checked out their shop and see who seemed reputable. I mean I know we have sponsors and other people that people typically go to but cost/turnout/attitude (not all 3 specifically) didnt really work with me. This was one of the last places that I had marked out from my searches on the net and they were top notch in all regards, so I went with them and am very happy about it.

400 is their general price for a set of rims. They were pretty easy going about it and werent fussy about size and what not. They can get any color however I chose from what they had in stock and they did have quite alot in stock.

Always good to have more options. I mean they have a good price, good turnaround, and as well they were very easy to deal with.

nice, those look pretty good....love the color you chose!

Chemical dip should be sufficient, but I wouldnt discount sandlbasting. Unless the person doing it doesnt know what they're doing, it should never pit or damage aluminum. Its shotblasting that you'd want to look out for, and even that can be done if you're careful. I recently sandlbasted my OEM rims before paint and had no issues whatsoever.

nice to see a few alternate shops popping up around here. a little competition never hurt anyone :D

Naw, never ended up getting them done. When was getting ready to swap from my winters, the polished silver was too nice to ruin.

BTW. It took them over two weeks to call me back. Said they were busy

Nice rims. They chemically dipped them to remove the old paint and clear coat?
