Hey Guys,
Earlier this year I teamed up with the guys at WP Pro to get a Big Brake Kit developed for the Mazda3. Many people haven't heard of WP Pro over here. They are a Taiwanese company, and manufacture braking components for some of the world's largest brake companies, and OEMs.
This kit in particular is a 360mm (approx 14.2") rotor, and features the new EX6 Pot caliper, which is a 6Pot caliper which is almost the size of an 8pot housing. Caliper colour is decided by the customer, and there are quite a few standard colours available. Since the car is now orange I thought this would be a good contrast: "Laguna Seca Blue".

I am going to get some more photos today, but any questions or comments, please feel free to ask.

My first question is price????

See the post above yours. :)
Price is high... but so is the quality. You will be hard pressed to find a comparable quality BBK for less :)

Haha, I somehow missed the price, thanks.
That price isn't too bad for a quality BBK. Seems on par with BBKs for other cars. I haven't done a lot of research on this car yet but am looking forwards to modding my speed 3 and brakes are something that I always do before adding more go fast goodies. You gotta be able to stop

Agreed!
The Rotora and Brembo kits both use a 4piston setup, and cast calipers, with 1 pc rotors. This is a fully forged caliper, 6 piston and 2pc rotors.
I have heard a lot of people having issues with the Brembo GT line warping rotors. A Forged GTR line is a few times more than this kit :)

Lol... I'm so damn hungry I clicked here because BBQ mean't Barbeque... But still this is a really nice mod. Did you have to get a different bracket to mount the Calipers onto the hub assembly, or did it fit the stock bracket?

How long should these rotors last for, for $2500
Forever??

looks awesome, but too much money for stopping power, unless you race your car every single weekend. :D

Its stupid comments like this that causes vendors not even bother making performance parts for our cars.
I suppose its better than the tree hugging, diesel driving, Birkenstock wearing members with their question of "How would I fit my 13" winter tires with these brakes?"

HAHAH
Price out a carbon big brake kit.
And no, a heavy powerful car could eat those rotors in a few track days.

Rotora and brembo offer billet and forged and cast i believe. Different applications require different materials.
And these have no warranty, and are labelled "off road use only"

As with every brake company, they offer calipers that will fit our rears, but dont list them.

They loom great, and i'm sure the quality is top notch.
Question is, aside from speed3 owners would anyone really stick a bbk on a standard 3?
If i had the money i would grab it though :D

BBK's in most cases are not your typical upgrade as many don't need it. However when you are in Johns territory or doing a significant amount of tracking a BBK is one of the best investments you can do.
I know a lot of BMW guys who use WP Pro Brakes and have nothing but good things to say.

yes I'm sure asking if those kinda of brakes on a street car would last a really long time will stop company's from making them.
thanks

Yes, and I think the forged Brembo GTR line are $8,000-9,000 for a 6piston, lol.
I really like the WP Pro way of doing things. Sam is the local Sales guy (big into the BMW scene, which is why you'll see a ton of BMWs with them), and he rocks a 12 piston front and 6 piston rear setup on his car... 24/7 365 days a year. We had to fit his car with 20" winter tires. When I asked him why, he said "I sell a product in Canada, and I want to know that it will stand up to everything here". They have VERY sturdy dust boots that require little to no maintenance, and hold up very well.
There is no rear kit right now. One can be made, but will loose e-brake functionality (as ours is in the caliper). Plus, to fab a bracket to keep our rear caliper as an e-brake only becomes a fabrication from hell, and gets expensive. So I decided to colour match my calipers, and do the "OEM BBK".
Expensive? Yes. Quality? Yes. Overkill? YES! lol
This would be a good option for the track guys who are looking at BBK, not for daily drivers really. I'll be the fist to admit that its overkill on my car :)

Its overkill on any 3, regardless of use lol.
What are the pad options? Common size so i could get ANY pad for these? Same with the rotors?
My issue is that i care more about my rotors pads and fluid than my calipers, so if i could still get hawk hp+ for them sure it would be great, bit if WP's pads are crap for track and i cant get pads, there no use right?
Cuz ya its ALOT CHEAPER than most comparible bbk

They use WP's pads, which are much larger than your standard set of Hawks. They have Street and Track compounds, and def aren;t crap on the track (dozens of teams use them with great success :)

Hey Mods - Can we move this back to the suspension section?
I am in no way selling this kit through the shop. It's a mod I have done to my personal car, and if anyone is looking to purchase, should contact WP Pro. Of course, any questions, I am more than willing to try and help :)
