So I did the led license light switch....got the bulb in... but there's a small kinda like "plastic tab" thats on the bumper RIGHT in front of where the light is. It's not sticking out visually as I said it protrudes inward) it seems like a useless part of the bumper that serves no purpose but to cause me grief trying to put the plastic dome cover back on :flaming
Has anyone had any problems with this issue? I'm contemplating filing it down and be done with it!!!
Lemme know if any of you had this problem, be interested to know

I think I know what you're talking about. If it's a little piece of plastic that (I guess you could say) "shields" the lightbulb, I took that off. I noticed that the shield blocks a lot of the light

Do you have a hatch? I keep the plastic covers simply because it will reduce the amount of moisture that goes in and thus exposing less of the wires. A simple flatheat will pry that plastic out very quickly. Its taking them off in the first place that is a PITA.

naww I have a sedan, and I NEVER throw away the plastic covers....I was talking about a PITA piece a plastic tab-like piece that was .....and I now say, WAS keeping me from putting my protective plastic cover back on..just got back from my friends garage and it's done :bana2

After seeing how easy it was to put the cover on after removing that tab.....I see no other reason for it to be there except because some pencil pushing armchair jockey at mazda r n d dept. grinning deviously at the proverbial pine-cone up someones butt problem this will cause as a result. Problem solved .....2 points, I win :huge smile

you dont need to take the plastic cover off. just take the housing off the car, really easy, and twist the bulb connector and it comes out.
and thats kool. how many are you missing?

it has to be white or yellowish.
i highly doubt brightness is an issue but i do know that any other color, even if its brighter then white is illegal and i have heard of someone getting a ticket and seen someone get told by the cops about it.

Its not about making it "brighter" Rob23. I just like the color of the led....it's just a "cleaner" looking light....it's like saying "why do some people like classical music"....I hate it personally...but some people love it.....it's that simple. Hope that helps
