View Full Version : Wipers not working!

Tried my wipers last week and they didn't work! Went 2 days without wipers then all of a sudden they worked again for my trip to work. Now, I can't get them on for the life of me. I have replaced the motor and that isn't it. I took apart the steering wheel to visually inspect the switch and I can't see anything wrong with it (although I think I may just replace it anyway).

I am assuming these have an intermittant relay? Can't hear a click when they are activated coming from the hood so possibly a switch/relay problem?

Any ideas where the Relay is? I can't find a wiper specific relay and all information I am finding online is pretty useless.

Thanks.

I did a pretty good check of the wires, can't find anything that pops out and looks out of place. I shoulda said a bit more. I did check out the fuse, the fuse under the dash isn't blown, but replaced it anyways and nothing. There is another fuse box under the hood and they all seem to check out but wondering if maybe one of them that controls the wipers is a little defective? If I can get a definitive answer on that I will replace that specific fuse/relay.

It couldn't have been a frozen issue since I had the car in the garage and the wiper assembly apart, i was holding the motor while I was turning it on and off to see if it would work, nothing. I played with the connections and even unplugged/plugged everything I could find, even tapping it thinking its a loose connection, still nothing.

I am at a total lose and worst part is.....expecting a snow storm, of course!

You may have a ground issue on the wiper motor. I know there is a service bulletin on them. They install an extra ground wire from the motor to the body of the car.
