One of the first things I did when I got my car was pull the DRL relay from the engine fuse box. Hate those pale halogens while driving. However now I've got yellow bulbs that I just installed, so I popped the relay back in place. The problem is, the DRLs are not coming on now under any situation. I know the bulbs work since they come on as high beams.
Anyone have any experience with this system? I'm going to go back and check if there is a separate fuse that might have been damaged somehow. In my '07, it was a simple issue of pulling the fuse out (not a relay) to disable the DRLs, so I assumed the same would apply on the 2012 and it was reversible.

Follow-up: apparently the solution was simply to either a) drive around for two days and the car fairies will take care of the problem, or b) post on TM3 for help and the forum software restores my DRLs.
Driving around this afternoon and now my DRLs are back on. Weren't working when I left the parking garage this morning.

Nope, definitely not, I know that cancels them.
Very weird, just left my garage again. While driving out, light switch set to 'off', no DRLs. 3 minutes later outside, I can see they're on in reflections from other cars. Is there supposed to be some sort of delay?

Sit around in the garage for about 5 mins and see if they come on.

Perhaps the light sensor is compensating for being underground. I notice that sometimes on my 2012, underground it take some time before they come on.

That's what seems to be happening, just while in the parking garage when starting up. When outside, starting they come on right away. Strange.

+1 To this. I Think this may be the reason why. You've got a Skyactiv GS-L? Auto Lights on the car are...awkward sometimes. Mazda Pins them as "dusk sensing Headlights"

Yeah its still odd though, because this delay happens even when the light switch is in the "off" position, i.e. the auto sensor shouldn't be involved.
I know the sensor can be weird, because when I turn the switch from off to auto while in the garage, the low beams will come on immediately. If I drive in from outside with the switch on auto, the low beams will take a good 15sec to switch on once in the garage (constant ambient lighting though).

Yep I unplugged my DRL relay too until I can get Some L.E.D H8 bulbs in 8,000k Or anything above 4,300k. The Delay is normal on your car as my Gen2 MS3 does the same when in auto going into darker parking garage, I guess it is to ensure your lights don't turn on then off as you pass an under pass. This does the same when your light are on and you pull out of a garage they don't shut off right away. I just saw a MDX pass under under pass behind me the lights went on we were doing 60km/hr then shut off a little while after, so annoying especially to other drivers! I'll take my Delay any day of the week!

I have some what of the same kind of issue with my DRLs... I think... I was driving around Newmarket around 6:30 still bright out but my Low beams would be on constantly. I stopped to figure out some directions and afterwardthe DRLs kicked back in. Not sure what the issue was I tried swapping from auto to off to auto while driving didnt really solve anything. not sure if its related as I havent touched the fuse box except when taking the left panel out to wrap.
Also just noticed this was necro'd but oh well.
