Hey guys... normally I'd just do this myself and tear the car apart in my garage but I moved an no longer have a garage... and its the winter..

Since my 3 yr warranty ran out, I've been getting really loud THUNK noises from my trunk when going over bumps. I've checked the obvious stuff (cover, tightened down spare tire, etc) and its not that. To me it sounds like its coming from the hatch door, but I checked it and it seems like everything (spoiler included) is tight.
My GF sat in the back and said she thought it was coming from the suspension.

If i go to the dealer, what is the chance it would be covered under extended warranty? I've never had a car with an extended warranty (it came with the car in this case) and I have no idea how it works. If its not covered, I'd just stick it out till summer and put my car on ramps and check the normal culprits.

Thanks in advance

Probably your rear sway bar. Check the endlinks and the bushings where they bolt to the frame. My bushings were worn and caused a clunk. I'm currently using the OEM MS3 setup so it can definitely happen to yours.

It probably won't be covered by the extended warranty because it's a bushing so they will probably consider it a wearable item.

Actually it still might. As of march last year some links and bushings are now covered
