I've been researching for a while on how to do this, and there seem to be several methods of tackling this. My Garmin 1490t has the inline traffic receiver attached to the cord and i want to keep it. So I was wondering if anyone on here has hardwired a Garmin1490T. My thought was to get a female cigarette socket and wire that into the driver side fusebox on a 12v source, that way I keep the voltage regulator of the original power cord, and don't take apart that cord. Can I use an add-a-circuit for this purpose and wire the socket directly and then just plug the gps power cord into it? Tips, suggestions, all are welcome, thanks :)!
