View Full Version : Why Hawk HPS pads - Isn't ceramics better?
I see that Hawk HPS is the brake pad mostly recommended in this forum. Why do members like it given that it is semi-metallic and cause rotors to wrap unlike the ceramic pads? I presume OME front pads are semi-metallic too.

Ceramic pads are loud until heated up. Most members would find the noise both annoying and unnerving. The Hps are a very good daily driver brake pad.

usually what happens is that pads arent properlly bedded into the rotors, and pad material starts building up unevenly on the rotors. These highs and lows of material build up cause that shuddering when braking that people assume are warped rotors because of the uneven surface
ill admit, i have used the cheapest chinese rotors I could get for some of my older cars. Ive never 'warped' a rotor
