Just wondering if anyone "has a guy" or happens to "be a guy" that does potlights? I've found a reputable person that'll do them for $70/light using good non-home depot lights, plus charge industry rate for the ESA inspection, but in hoping to save some moolah, came to see if TM3 has someone :)

Do the lights need insulated boxes? ( being installed on top floor or in a bungalow.? )

$70/ light seems steep to me.
I had a guy in Scarborough that quoted me about $1200 for 2 dozen potlights AND crown moldings throughout the house (parts and labour)

you should ask how much if you buy your own potlights - and upgrade to LED if its within budget

Nope - 1st floor of a 2-floor house

That's pretty darn cheap... Including ESA inspection? I'm kind of hesitant about LEDs, since they don't put out as much light as incandescents and aren't always dimmable :P

That is cheap.

With contractors discount i was quoted 90+tax each parts only. But I need boxes. They are about 20 a pop.

So 70 installed is good.

I figured it was pretty competitive, just figured someone might've been an electrician :chuckle

hmm, sounds abit fishy to me... for a brand new house not including the dry wall we charge $130 and hes charging you $70. if i were you i would keep an eye on how he's doing because ive seen many homes before with pot lights not installed properly and have had MAJOR fire hazards... also if you want i can send somebody to you to check out the everything and price it out.

My quote was not including inspection.

HOWEVER, he's a contractor for (IIRC) John Body Homes.

My guess is, he was probably gonna steal the parts from the current build site and use them in my house LOL.

I didn't go through with it though. I decided to buy a few floor lamps, a TV and a set of rims LOL

I don't think so - but I'll take a look. This was about 3-4 years ago, when I had just bought the house.
