I figured that Easter was just a celebration of a Mel Gibson/Jim Caviezel film.

Haha, this is amazing. My sister showed a video of a girl that was traveling in a car that was asked how long it would take to get to her destination that is 80 miles away when they were traveling 80mph, even after 40 minutes of calculations he still didn't get it
What a sad day... the younger generation of uninformed fools will be the demise of this world.

lol these stupid fools, despite having the internet at their disposal, stupidity remains. Back then we only had libraries and encyclopedias, but we knew a lot of shit. These kids only use libraries now just for hanging out.

when you actually have to "work" at gaining knowledge - it sticks with you.
Googling answers is too easy, and taken for granted.

I thought so too....then i started creeping the twitter profiles...for the majority of them...they are still up and have yet to be deleted...and the amount of grief they seem to be getting on twitter makes it all the more legit...

Every generation believes the next to be troublesome and ill equipped. There are remarks of this since Greek philosophers.
Truth is each generation is approximately 25% more intelligent than the last.
The more you know.

That has got to be one of the most 'unintelligent' comments I've ever heard here...seriously. So I guess your 50% more intelligent then people just two generations ago? LMAO.....what errogance.

I wouldn't say more intelligent. Just know different things.
A generation or two ago - not many knew how to work with computers. But who here knows how to milk a cow or churn butter? (without google or YouTubing it).
IMO - I think people (young and old) today are not intelligent enough, considering the resources available.

Actually I think Paton may have just used the wrong word in his statement, he may have meant more knowledgeable, ( I hope), which may or should be true considering all the information available today due to computers, the internet and many advances. But as for intelligence; I could argue that point with plenty of back-up. As you say Default along with your churning butter analogy, throw anyone today, without a compass or GPS in the middle of the Atlantic and see how they do.

This makes me very sad.
Just as most kids didn't realize that the 95th anniversary of Vimmy Ridge is ongoing right now. (9th -12th)

I don't mind them not knowing it's the anniversary of Vimy Ridge, but as long as they know that it actually happened then I'm fine with that.
