i'm wondering how koni orange's would work with stechs?, are the springs to stiff or too soft to work with the shocks/struts?
are they a better suspension then KYB brand?
i know everyone is just going to say get koni yellows but im not in the market for spending that much

Oranges are valved to the softest setting that the yellows do. So they are stiffer than stock. A few people have them installed on the second gen site. Plus they are made for lowering springs, GR2s aren't always recommended for lowered cars.

i guess not to many guys here have much experience with the koni oranges.
i just spoke with mazda to ask how much it cost for all new suspension at i was quoted $713.12 for front and back so another question is how can other brands like koni yellows be around the same price a be so much better for lowered cars then oem same with koni oranges, they must be better then oem?

Dealership always has a high mark up on anything.
Koni Yellow is a great match for lowering springs and is worth the price.
Not willing to spend much? check this out.

Or try your luck and get the Koni Orange, be the first to write the review for it.
Good luck with your quest.. KONI-2012!

Koni orange will work better than KYB for lowering springs. I installed a set on a buddy's 3 a few months ago, and I have KYBs on my car.

I have oranges and ****n love it. I am planning a review, but honestly paired with pro-kits and a rear sway I am beyond happy with the car...It's a daily warrior so I wanted something quality but not racecar-ish either. I wanted to mod my car to enhance the experience, not sink tons of money into it.
I think they are valved a half turn from soft of the yellows if my research is correct, plus the cost and lifetime warranty make it a no brainer for me.

those are my thoughts exactly, i like my 3 but to me its not worth buying top of the line mods for, middle end is where i like to buy for this particular vehicle

I picked mine up from Northern Performance and had Street Performance install them. The car handles well enough that it feels like the door is going to fly open and you can't hold on anymore on some sweeping turns so to me, that's good enough.

I have koni oranges with Canuck Motorsport springs. The Koni's are just a wee bit stiff than OEM; but as replacements, they are cheaper and have a lifetime warranty :)
Do you actually need shocks?
Why not replace them when their needed?

from comparing the specs of the two...sportlines are the most aggressive drop (1.8") while s-tech's are (1.5") and pro-kits are (1.2")

stechs have more then 1.5" drop in the front, they have more like 1.8 like sportlines, and like a 1.2 in the rear. when i switch from stech to sportlines the drop on the front still looked the exact same. it was just the rear where i saw the drop from having stechs

yeah sometimes i would hear scrubbing on the fronts with either a really sharp turn or a fast turn where there is some body roll.(taking and enter/exit ramp fast)
