Hey everyone. This is my first post. I currently drive a 2003 cavalier but I am looking to upgrade this summer. I'm looking at 2012 Mazda 3 sport with sky activ I was wondering what the current owners think about the car. I live it whitby and if anyone could suggest a good dealership, that would be very much appreciated.

I have a Skyactiv hatch, and it's been great. I was actually lucky, and got to drive my Fiancee's 2011 2.0L hatch for about 3 months before I purchased mine, so I was able to get a good comparison between the two. The non-Skyactiv can definitely get up and go quicker than the Skyactiv, ie. acceleration is faster. But the Skyactiv's definitely improve after the initial break in period. Mine is a blast to drive, and comparing with my Fiancee, its definitely better on gas. Whether the improved mileage is worth the slightly decreased "sportiness" is entirely personal preference, but I'll quote Aitch, another forum member, who describes it as "90% as exciting as my last one.... and the 10% difference is due to the transmission". It ultimately comes down to how you drive, and what you're looking for in a vehicle. Definitely take it for a long test drive, and see what you think of it.

Mazda of Toronto if you're in Whitby. I also had a good experience at Agincourt when looking for my 3, so I wouldn't shy away from paying them a visit either whenever you're ready to purchase.

Good luck and welcome to the forums :)

I went to check out Whitby Mazda today, very nice location compared to last their previous one. I didn’t have chance to stay long so i was merely interested in crunching some numbers. I spoke with a sales rep about what I am interested in and what I would be putting down when I am willing to finalize a deal, about 5k (not including any trade in).

He told me he would get me a deal. He left for about 10 minutes and came back with a Bi-Weekly payment of 169.93 (on a sedan). We talked a bit more and he tried to convince me to get into a GT (which is a very nice car btw).

Anyways I happened to build a Mazda 3 GS Sky Sedan online, and it turns out that online it’s roughly 167.19 and the "deal" he got me for a GT is about 3 dollars bi-weekly more than what’s on Mazda's site. After looking at the sedan more closely, I think I will be going for the sport model.

I understand that the website is more or less for estimating what your payment would be, but I don't call his numbers a deal.

I have heard/read great things about Jeff so in the coming weeks it looks like I will be contacting him. I am not in a huge rush to get a new car, as my car is fine, I’m just looking to upgrade and have heard great things about Mazda :)

Hope to be joining you guys soon!!

Dan

*Make sure you do contact jeff.*

He will get you what you want for a better price, and you wont have to deal with all the salesmen crap.

And youll be dealing with a fellow tm3 member ;)

I didnt even speak to a single dealer, salesmen, or anything.

Emailed him with what i wanted and how much i wanted to pay, picked up the car 3 days later :)
