hey,

on friday i am going to a used car dealership to check out a 5 speed 2005 mazda 3 gt hatch with 173,000kms.
the car looks to be in great shape no rust on the exterior thats visible and clean on the interior.

i was wondering if you guys could help me and let me know what i should be checking and looking out for when i go to inspect the car
and what parts should already be changed or would soon be needed to change(could possibly use this to lower the price).

thanks in advanced for any input.

Rust is the most important.

Then motor mounts, belt tensioner, ac compressor and wheel bearings seem to be common things that go around there or before (I am past that with an 04)

See if you can grab the VIN# so I can run a history on it.

Suspension (shocks/struts) will probably need to be done if it already hasn't been.

173k isn't that bad. I have 224k on my car now.

What's the dealership you're getting it from?

the dealership is named "ASHQIS AUTO" located in Mississauga.

the car is up for sale for fairly cheap. i think the price is reasonable for the amount of mileage that is on it.

going to check it out tmmrw and take it for a drive. if its in good shape and has no rust i might take it.

^ For all those who were wondering.

Car seems to be in decent shape physically, from what I can tell. Just gotta check the mechanics and car history which Joe (Flipdaddy) is willing to do of you.

Edit: found the VIN online. LOL - JM1BK143951297994.

hey guys just following up on this,

i went to check the car out today and the exterior is in great shape but the interior could use some work. the front seats were ripped pretty bad and the clutch was slippin a bit in first and second.

i decided to pass on this and keep looking.

thanks for all the input.
