Someone writes in wondering why they are having so many issues on their 2006 Mazda 3. Read the entire article and in the last paragraph the carfax is one good indication that the owner isn't a great driver.

Actually, what happened to him is not an indication of a bad driver. His car was vandalized and rear ended. Not much control in either situation. He isn't very smart since he did not think that the rear end collision may have caused other issues beyond damage to the rear bumper.

how is it his fault beyond the low usage of his vehicle? he should of used his car more often, we use to get ruined engines cuz people keep buying f150's to go down the street for years. water gets into the engine and ruins everything... other than that, its beyond his control. but it also depends on how well the car has been repaired. the previous owner had been side swiped by a car on the highway and had to replace the driver door. just spend about $500 to get the lock fixed cuz it seized. they noticed damage from the previous impact...

Sorry, you lost me there. Which previous owner was side swiped? The article states that both incidents were "rear-end impacts"

The article states 3 accidents (2 rear endings) and 1 vandalism. I found it funny how it is not mentioned till the end about all the accidents. As for getting rear ended and it NOT being your fault. I'll admit once I wasn't paying attention in stop and go traffic and I slammed on the breaks...guy behind me plowed into me. Sure he wasn't paying attention either...but was it all his fault. I would say I was 50% at fault.

To sum it all up...if your car has been in 3 accidents you shouldn't be shocked if you have odd issues. I remember after a fender bender in my old Protege 5 if I drove in the rain the spare tire wheel well would collect water. Cars are never right after an accident.

The reason I know that when you rear end someone, you will be be charged is that I was rear ended this weekend. To say that you weren't paying attention is not a valid excuse. If an officer hear you say that, they would charge you right then and there. (If me being stopped at a red light for 12 seconds doesn't get you to stop, I don't know what will.) That is why we are taught when driving to leave proper space and pay attention. Of course there are many variables to why this guy was rear ended twice and we can only speculate. at this point.

However, the driver of the 3 like many other people, neglect to give the full story especially if they are trying to gain sympathy or validate what they are saying. Notice how none of this was mentioned on his email to Wheels.

How does getting in a rear end collision affect:
1) all four tires wearing out prematurely (those Goodyear Eagle RS-As are trash)
2) needing a clutch replacement
3) requiring brake service
4) trailing arm bushings

definately cannot blame a rear end collision or vandalism for these repairs

If you get hit from behind it can mess the frame up, if not repaired correctly then there's an easy way for the tires to wear out...as well as any suspension parts. Brake service, well the article explained it. I remember I left a friends VW Jetta sit in my driveway for 8mths with maybe 200kms put on it and she needed to have new rotors and pads because the rust ate them up.

Clutch...well that's on the driver!

All in all you can't cry fowl when you're a neglectful owner.

You guys sure like to jump to conclusions...
The guy says he's been driving manual for quite a while.. I doubt he destroyed a clutch in 30k.
Why did the tires need to be replaced?
You don't know how long in between he drives the car or where its parked.
The brakes I can see going.. However he got ripped getting them machined and then replaced..
Guy is dumb ass enough I assume to go to a dealer.. ugh
