I got a question about the traffic court system. I got a ticket back in January and was planning on fighting it. But I moved to the States about a month ago for a job opportunity. My brother said I just got a letter from the Provincial Courts to appear in December. My question is: if I don't want to come back to go through the trouble of fighting the ticket, can I just pay the ticket? I plan to make a trip back to T.O later this summer... can I explain to the courts that I have moved and longer wish to contest the ticket?

I rather just pay than go through the hassle of this. Thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

Yes you can. I think they'll even try to get you to do that before you appear in court, even on the date of.

You can always pay a company to go for you, contest it, and hopefully lower the fine.

Call the court house and explain to them the situation, and if you still decided on just paying it. They can give you the information on how to do it. You can just pay it over the internet (cant remeber the website)

If you pay it, and you live in the states (depending which state), the ticket wont affect your insurance or record with that state.
just my $0.02
