I still remember watching the news live and the riots and chaos after the fact. It was simply insanity ... I mean the poor truck driver getting beaten with bricks over his head - stores looted and vandalized...

Poor Guy? He was always an alcoholic! If anyone actually understood that he got his beating because he refused to stay down when repeatedly told by police and just kept trying to get up, cause he was completely drunk!... I feel nothing for the guy, especially after he managed to score $millions, caused major riots which many innocent people got seriuosly hurt and still didn't straighten himself out....farken idiot.

Yes he always struggled with addiction but there's no way he deserved the beating he got. If he was that drunk, I would think that the officers could have subdued him without the beating.

It's a shame that he struggled so long with his demons.

I would put the riots on the people who did the damage and the rioting.

Have to agree with this...he was no angel, but the beating was WAY past extreme.
