Got my hella horns installed by dan about a year ago, now all of a sudden they aren't working. checked the fuse and its fine, checked the connections and they are fine. when i hit the steering wheel i get a clicking noise from the fuse box but again the fuse is fine. im thinking it could be the relay that the hellas come with.
anyone have this problem before or have any ideas?

if you hear a clicking sound that means there's a relay somewhere in there. fuses should not click. or there's a short somewhere. my guess is since they both stopped working at the same time, your ground is bad. ive seen that happen before
the horns new come with the relay harness. the relay is there to give the horns power straight from the batt as opposed to going through the stock wiring (but im sure you know that already). i have installed 3 sets of the hellas. and mine needs new wiring. they don't work half the time, but that's what corrosion does to wires and non weatherproof connections.
if you have a multimeter check the wiring from one end to the other to see if the voltage is going through. if its getting to the horns then they should work. if you do and they still don't work then the horns are ****ed up. another way to check if the horns work is to just temporarily wire them to some loose wire and put it to your batt.

Not totally related but I had a problem like this after trying to install fogs and I would keep hearing clicking but see no light. It really turned out to be the fuse.. Try replacing the fuse first, if no work then do gabby's way!

do what alvin did, install two more so that when they do work, you've got 4 blasting lol
In all seriousness, maybe you pulled the wrong fuse?
With all the electrical problems people are having, I think we should have an electrics bbq somewhere and fix them all at once lol

i didn't use a relay to install my hellas. most likely a bad ground.

LOL ... in theory that would have been great ... but apparently Jimmy wired it up to the same relay and spliced the wire ... so if it doesn't work, all four don't work. I still don't know what is wrong / was wrong with mine. I'm suspecting the use of speaker wire cable rather than automotive wire may be the case too. Funny thing is that I also had Dan wire up my hella horns and after about a year they "died".

yea, try changing the horn relay, the factory horn went on my mazda 3 and they replaced the relay, it worked for a bit then they ended up changing the horn. make sure all the connections, if he splices into any wires, are all soldered, taped, and shrink wrapped, this will help prevent rust/corrosion of the wires, make sure the right gauge of wire is being used, to small of gauge can burn the wire since it cant handle the amount of current running threw.

sorry i should have updated this thread, my horns are now working fine. took it too jimmy and a wire was corroded. took him a long time to find cuz the wire was hanging down in the engine bay.

Still having issues with mine. Problem is sometimes works, sometimes doesn't ... when it rains or is really windy, there is a greater chance (almost 99%) that they honk once, then die ... leave it for a period of time and they work once again, then die. RARELY happens during the summer ... any thoughts?

Different people different needs, different strokes, different folks :D:D ... my car has been dinged so many times since I came to Windsor, it's ridiculous ... and the drivers are driving like they're sleeping.
