hey guys,

my stock struts are starting to make noise with the current prokits i have installed on them, with that being said, I'm looking at options to get either A) new struts that will match my springs ( ie: koni yellow ) or possibly some coilovers. i was looking to spend between 600-800 dollars taxes in.

Also, for coilover option, i don't care for them to be to stiff as the car is a daily drive and never used on the track....

IDEAS???????????

thanks in advance,

I am on Koni yellows and Eibach prokits. It's a great combination. Konis at 60% stiffness setting is stiff but still comfortable. Konis will run you around $650-700 which is in your price range.
If you go for coilovers you are probably going to have to get used because decent coils are $900+. There are cheaper ones of course but maybe others can post their reviews on them.

^ What he said.
Decent used coils will run you $800+

Any coils worth $600 new are useless.

You don't have to get adjustable dampers either. Lots of other options like koni fsd, bilstein b6/b8, not to mention cost effective options like koni orange.

I would say go with the koni yellows. Since you said your car is a daily driver. Unless you want more low, in which case get coils but then you're going to have a stiff ride.

Koni Yellows. Like others said 2x, coilovers would run you 900+

So wait.
1. Did this happen when you just instaslled the prokits?
2. Are they the front or rear? (if it's the rear it could be the sway bar not sitting right?)
3. How much Kms in your struts?

1. Did this happen when you just instaslled the profits? --> I've had the prokits on for over 1 year and a half...i think it may be just with regular wear and tear
2. Are they the front or rear? (if it's the rear it could be the sway bar not sitting right?) --> i only hear the noise in the back, it might possibly be the sway bar, but i don't know much about cars
3. How much Kms in your struts? --> the kms are 124,000 on the car, struts are oem

maybe i might be looking at the wrong problem? possibly the sway bar?

Yellow's are adjustable. Orange (SRT.T) ones are not. If you're not really looking for any added performance or looking to lower it more, the orange ones are probably the best way to go if you want to save money. If you don't mind spending a bit more money, the yellow's (set to 60% i believe) have had great reviews from many people on here.

If you looking for A good deal im looking to sell my koni yellow/ sportline combo that i installed less than 3000 km ago. They ride like they are on rails but im a stance phene and want to switch to coils so i can drop another inch.

You can look into Raceland Coilovers. Foxy and trulankan have them on their cars.

I have vmaxx coils, basically the same as race land. Had them on for about a year. No problems and I don't mind the stiffness. They ran me 750ish on a GB.

Struts:
Pros: Less maintenance
Cons: Limited to ride height of set springs
(most) are not adjustable

Coilovers:
Pros: (most) are adjustable
adjustable ride height
springs and strut combo is paired to eachother

Cons: may ride too harsh for your liking
more maintenance
(most) may see issues with ceasing due to winter conditions. This can be delayed by cleaning them, applying anti cease and/or spraying with a grease coating.

Personally, I have Prokits front and rear, and when my rear stock struts blew, I got Koni Yellows, set to 30% from full soft. It's perfect when its just me, but a bit spungey when the cars loaded up. I don't drive like an idiot (usually) My front struts are done now too, but Money is tight. I'm not "bouncing" yet but my left front is making a click/clunk over bumps. I'll be doing Koni Yellows up front when the time comes.

the racelands are good if u do alot of highway driving (more than the city). on the regular road it can be pretty rough if its in shitty condition. some roads in scarborough are very bad and having a car with coils u will def notice. I dropped by Altech (in the Kipling/Dundas area) today to get an alignment. The roads around there are in horrible shape and my car was bouncing around like a leaf tossed in the wind lol they seriously need to get that road fixed, worst i've driven on in awhile

based on what experience with BC coilovers?

Based on I've taken them apart, cleaned, anti-seized them, greased up threads.. tonight I'm going to check pre-load.. so based off the fact that they are very easy to maintain, even for a noob like me who doesn't have them installed yet.

To properly give my opinion, I should of just posted coils.. no brand
