I know there are some that dont want to support us but we are still having a large meet on July 22nd. Not to take away from the other event happening that day but we are on the west end so for those who wish to come out and have a great time with the great people from QEW Mazda that have been on this forum for 4 years please come out!

http://www.toronto-subaru-club.com/forums/general-subaru-discussion/160863-represent-your-community.html

There are many sponsors with great prizes and there will be some very nice cars! Many know Robbie from Subaru who will also be there.

Can people still go if they don't contribute?

Hey everyone,

If you're from Oakville you may have noticed that the
Budds' Family has recently acquired Budds' Mazda (formerly QEW Mazda). Andrew
and I thought it would be a great idea to host a "Battle of the Clubs" to see
the different types of cars and people from different communities.

This
will be hosted by Budds' Subaru and Budds' Mazda with the help from our
sponsors.. and YOU! Please come out and represent your club, I think the TSC
community can provide a much larger turn out!

Updated:
-There
will be an entry fee of $5.00 / car (this may change)
- Whichever club has
the BIGGEST turn out we will donate all proceeds to a charity of the Club's
choice on their behalf.
- Grand prize goes to the club with the most amount
of vehicles.

This will be taking place at the Mazda store. I need to see
how many people will be interested in showing up.

We will have prize
draws, and BBQ with some giveaways.

Sponsors in attendance:
-
Nextmod
- Legit Graphics
- JRP
- Sirius XM

thanks Jeff, yes the money will be going to the charity of choice for the forum with the largest turnout. I know some people that have never even been to QEW or Budds are upset but for those who have been supporters of us even back to the Oakville Mazda days come out and do it for a good cause. if you dont want to give $5.00 then i will contribute for you out of my own pocket. Lets show TSC what TM3 is made of!

Only 4 cars attended? Yikes
As I stated before, why would TM3 members support an event at a dealer that does not Support TM3 ? In years past for small BBQ's at QEW Mazda we have had 20+ cars. We could have easily brought 30-40 cars, but Budds management decided it is not beneficial for them to support TM3. Thus it is not beneficial for TM3 to support Budds.
Maybe next year..

Booter22
07-22-2012, 10:42 PM
At the end of the day it was a fun get together, TM3 missed out on some good giveaways, good food and the chance for any bragging rights of a turn out over TSC. i havent heard the totals yet what was raised for charity or which TSC has chosen the proceeds to go to but all in all hopefully next year TM3 will make a good showing and we could blow TSC out of the water. Shame this meet and the "Not BS" - Breakdance and Modified car meet was on the same day but such is life would have been fun to try and make both even though the not bs meet was in scarborough. still looking forward to seeing some pics from that as well hopefully it was a good turn out and you also raised some money for chairty. all in all it im sure was a good day for both shows and decent money was raised for those in need.

Thanks again to all that managed to come out and make it to this show and again hopefully next year if there is a TM3 VS TSC meet we can blow them away. if we can get 20 memeber to Ertefa, and 80 memebers just to some start of the year shows. it would be awesome to have a large showing so TSC knows what we are all about!

at the end of the day it makes TM3 look bad, yes there was another event but couldnt even get 10 members. oh well still had fun. maybe next year it will be a bit larger and TM3 will want to out shine TSC - how ever they do have nicer plate frames and there stickers are pretty cool.. maybe a thought for future.

LOL! I don't think TM3 looks bad at all.

TM3 did not wish to support the dealership, many due to a lack of support shown for TM3. Budd's supports TSC, not TM3.... did you expect big numbers from TM3? TM3 doesn't have a large presence at Importfest, and that does not make TM3 look bad.

Perhaps Budd should not expect support without giving it themselves.

despite having a poor showing and time, i came out to support john, and i dont regret it. i just wish more people would get past and budds vs. tm3 and do the same. it would have been just like any other meet, except in this case we are helping a charity.

anyways i still hope there will be a bbq like last year with the award winning hotdogs and what not :)

07-23-2012, 04:13 PM
If I wasn't supporting Gabe's event, I would've went to the Mazda Canada one. However, if those two events weren't going on - I would've headed over to support John's charity event as well.

I agree that TM3 is definitely not obligated to go mainly since it's Budd's Mazda, but I don't mind going if it was to support charity and we're invited by a fellow TM3 member.

midnightfxgt
07-23-2012, 04:18 PM
Right, its for a good cause, but to think TM3 looked bad by the showing is laughable. Just because you name an event a "battle", and don't even have the support of both clubs, I think it's clear who should be embarrassed here.

Good for Budd's for doing a charity event. I think the turnout should show them something, although it is clear they do not see TM3 as a worthy investment.

Andrew and John are good people and good friemds of mine, that this whole ordeal of QEW merging to budds was beyond their control.

Let's hope tm3 shows a showing next year. I will be there for moral support!

bunch of haters on this thread... kinda sad that just cause the discount doesn't apply anymore you guys bash a dealership that has such great service!
Let it go already.

Not to mention, you really think that the service department wouldn't pull a few strings to help out TM3 members?

All in all, the BBQ was fun and had a great welcoming atmosphere. Simple as that. Move onto a new thread....

Um Ami, just a heads up for you. I bought my car from (QEW) Budds before John came into the picture. Get the facts right before you point fingers. Im not trying to be disrespectful, but like wth... He's my friend too and not just my bf. Just like some friends on here support eachother. Why am I any different?

I was at "Not BS" from start to finish. I made no secret of it as I even told John himself numerous times..... when I first heard about the Budds event earlier in the year, I was planning on attending. The Budds Suburu annual meets have been epic in terms of turnout. But I didn't realize that the Budds and Not BS events were on the same day, and I was already fully on board with helping Gabe out.

Regardless, it's not like these were the only 2 events happening yesterday. SLC Promotions had their event in North York. Teknotik had HondaTech running. I'm pretty sure there was some track event in Quebec going on as well.

It is what it is. These events have all come and gone. You learn... you move on... and hope for the best.

I would love to come out and support alot of events, but sometimes it's just not in the cards.

Was not going to go to deep on the personal stuff, but sure. Wonderful to know you bought your car from Budds prior to John being in the picture, not really relevant to the discussion though. Did I say you purchased your car from Budds because John works there? Nope.
I would hope since he is your BF, he would also be your friend. Would be kind of a strange relationship otherwise.
This is not friends supporting friends. This is members supporting a dealership/organization.

What I am saying is, that in threads discussing Budds relationship with TM3 one has to take your opinion with a grain of salt, as your BF is an employee of the organization, and you are going to support him.
People are welcome to take my views with a grain of salt as well, as I have a vested interest in TM3.
That said, I could have easily deleted the event thread when it was first posted. I let it stand, and let members decide for themselves if they wanted to support Budds.
As I have said to Budds Managment, and to Booter22, and Pereira11 , I offered Budds ownership group multiple solutions, they turned down my proposals.
They financially support TSC, but are not interested in financially supporting TM3.
Maybe this event will show Budds management/ownership that they are being "penny wise and pound foolish" .

hey guys i was away on vacation past few days but thanks to those who did come support. It was called a "battle of the boards" before the whole discount issue. Robbie and I had envisioned a huge event that was going to make history in terms of attendance. I fully understand the lack of support from TM3 and do not feel the need to bash TM3. I have been a member for years on this forum and have learned a lot about Mazda through the board.

I cannot explain why there is support for one forum and the other, at the end of the day that decision isnt mine. Maybe upper management doesnt even know they spend money for TSC??

Either way it was nice to see a few members come out. Thanks to a friend who brought his LS1 powered Miata as well. Thanks to Ami who allowed us to post the event. Definitely a great day though and thanks to our great sponsors who gave us many many prizes.

As always you can still PM myself or Booter22 for any questions you have in terms of Mazda's. We both have many years experience with Mazda.
