too many to name.
there's this *****ian guy who works in quality who's very nice, but he's supposed to be some type of advanced metalurgical engineer, yet is constantly asking me the dumbbbest questions. shit that I figured out within my first 6 months, and he's been (supposedly) working in the industry for like 15yrs. And he's always chewing gum and when he calls me on the phone to ask one of these inane questions he's always smacking his lips and chewing so loud I can hear it. few things really bug me around here, but that's def one of them lol.

there's actually another guy in Quality with pretty much the same MO, except this ones from China and is supposedly a mechanical engineer. I can understand and usually sympathise with the language barrier (I know I;d be in big trouble if I had to work in China or *****ia), but honestly nobody can understand WTF he's saying, and he talks so fast, most of it nonsensical. Even the other Chinese guys think this dude is ****ing insane. He's only been here about 2 months and has pissed a lot of people off.

not much other than that though....I try and get along with everyone. Gotta work with em everyday, no use making enemies lol

The same co-worker who whistles all fackin day listens to 40s and 50s music on the AM radio too. He comes in at 7:30 and plays solitaire on the computer for a hour before he actually starts to work. I went onto his pc and deleted solitaire 5 times but he just re-installs it. Also, when he finishes his lunch he sucks on his teeth to get the leftover bits out of them instead of using a phucking toothpick.

- obnoxious laughter, being over dramatic
- people who have conversations on speakerphone and leave the door open
- there's 1 woman here who speaks spanish, sounds like a pissed off Rose Perez ALL the time
- people who talk in cliche's or stupid sayings like "fire on all cylinders", "touch base", "circle back"

Even after a year in my current workplace, I can thankfully say that no one here pisses me off or even really annoys me. Although I know of some of our developers (from Moscow) who annoy people in my office - but that doesn't affect me directly.

The closest I can come to an office annoyance is one colleague who tends to go on too long about whatever point she is making....... whether it is business related or talking about family stuff and I just want to get back to what I'm doing. But even that is really minor!

this guy at work whistles the a few songs over and over.... and one of them is the lullaby. Dude, I'm trying NOT to fall asleep here! jks

And yes, when he talks to you, there is no end to it.. I avoid him now, and save my other collegues from him once in a while. Solution to the problem, headphones!

What about the person who never uses email so all information-sharing is verbal no matter how insignificant? What about the person who bathes in cologne and you can smell them a mile away? What about the person who in every conversation points out the inefficiency of others or the process as if we don’t already know?

I got another one.. There's this other person, he's an older guy and is pretty much retired. He's just working for fun. Every time he talks, you'd smell the cigarette aftermath even if he's 5 feet away. Whenever he comes by, I always make sure that my fan is on so the smell doesn't stay for long.

Other than that, he's an ok person; although he tries to challenge every single thing that we do but in the end, it's still our decision. :)

I work on a floor with wbout 150 people roughly.

Mostly everyone gets a long.
People who do not wear deodorant can be annoying, but I don't sit beside them.
People who reek of cigarette smoke annoy me, especially when they come up to talk to you just after having a smoke.

The biggest gripe of mine..

We have a long hallway that is about 300feet or more, there is not a lot of room to get out of the way..when people decide the need to walk side by side and think everyone else should get out of the way. Ignorant people! I now do not move out the way, if they want to walk into me that is their problem, it;s going to talk them a lot to knock me out of their way.

I worked with my dad for 10years and never have we had a fight or real argument.
I have been in my current place for almost 7 years and never have had a problem.

Everyone just needs to get along.

There's this guy at work that likes to give smartass comments. Every chance he gets he does it... To everyone. Not to mention that he's also a huge ass-kisser to the bosses and would throw you under the bus to clean his act. I just get back at him by making him look really stupid after asking a dumb question, which is how i would describe the majority of his questions.

There's also this small chinese woman from accounting that makes you think there's a giant walking your way. A killer breath that almost seems like her breath gathers itself into a fist and punches you in the face.

And both of them don't care if you're in the middle of anything. When they need something, they breathe down your neck until you help them. Sorts of people thinks you're just waiting on your desk to come to their rescue and drop whatever you're doing so you can tend to them.

There is a guy like this where I work. He has a private office uses the speaker phone with the door open to talk with a person who is sitting 20 feet away in a cubical and he has his speaker phone on as well. :bang
It pisses me off and I don`t even work in the office. But I have to go in there often.

I like my office environment. Nothing to complain about. We have a no fragrance policy at work (didn't really bother me but some people are allergic). I suggest if fragrances really bother you, take it up with HR. Most of the offices I know now-a-days are heading that way.

You can wear anti perspirant that stops you from sweating under the pits and they even come scent free.

Their is a big difference between someone who uses one or two sprays as opposed to bathing in the stuff... then it ends up being a stinking hybrid of smoke/cologne lol

1. My supervising attorney ... seems like she's completely ignorant about the ABA Rules on Professional Conduct and reprimands me for something she's not aware of until I show her the relevant rule.

2. Other attorney who feels she's a know-it-all-awesome-super-star ... she feels like because she's been given a case file that somehow she's superior to everyone. She has no humility. I reported her last week for her carelessness. Prosecutor had provided a CD with 4 security videos on it, this awesome-super-star reviewed the disc and came to the conclusion that there were only two picture files on it.

So, on the court date, my supervising attorney went to tell the prosecutor there was no video and was ready to adjourn the case. I asked to look at the disc, I flipped the disc around and noticed that 1/4 of it was dark (meaning that there had to be more data on there than merely just two pictures). I asked them to delay the case till later in the day so I could take a look at the video. Turns out that the videos were in a proprietary format with a proprietary software that would play it. After reviewing the tapes, I set the matter for trial. Carelessness + arrogance don't mix well.

My manager, who I SWEAR is bipolar, will be nice and polite, even make a few jokes one day, then flips her S**T when she misunderstands an email I send her.

The guy that sits next to me who just started who will, without asking, move up right beside me in his chair and stare over my shoulder at what I'm reading/working on. And cannot take a hint that it PASSES me off. Also taps his foot annoying on his chair.....and makes the loudest sound I've ever heard someone make while drinking.

Another co-worker who says "mmhmmm" WAY too much any time she is discussing something, as though it makes her sound understanding or smart.

When on a construction you run into all kinds of these.
For me the worst ones are LAZY union guys ( I'm non union). And not all union guys are lazy.

I've actually been removed from a job site due to the union complaining we were making them look bad. 3 guys did 10 floors in 1 week. ( putting in windows ) while 10 guys took 1 week per floor. They were almost 3 mnths behind and we caught them up in a week.

The good news is when that companies union contract came up. They didn't renew. So we got more work.

I know what you're saying I used to be non-union but then got in the union and for some odd reason some of the union guys have the idea that they shouldn't work like a dog but rather take it nice and easy. Don't really get the concept myself however that's pretty crazy how you manage to almost catch up in a week compared to there 3 month slack. That's just insane!

I work with one lady...she's 46 and I am her boss at the tender age of 22. I've been fortunate enough to divert her from working with me for at least the foreseeable future but the couple weeks I had to bear with her I could have shot her....or myself, I guess. She would constantly complain about shit (the heat, her life, her boyfriend, etc) and say the dumbest possible things in the process. I've had to yell at her numerous times however now that she's not working with me she has become slightly more bearable.

The one time that really pissed me off was one day we had a couple hundred VSO (Vehicle Shipping Orders) to distribute and we each had a stack of maybe 150 papers. I put mine in the back seat of our company vehicle and she sat hers square on her lap. I did a few oddball ones myself off her pile with her simply handing them to me (there were 1-2 per zone so I figured I could do them myself).

The problem started when we got to a major zone where over half of the papers would be distributed. We arrived, I parked our car and began to open my door when she reached over and handed me about 5 papers and gave me this "go do them" look. I turned to her, stared at her for a second and asked politely "What the **** are you doing?" She proceeded to tell me that she could not go out and hand out her papers BECAUSE THEY WERE SITTING ON HER LAP. I then proceeded and said "do you see what I've done with my papers? I've put them in the backseat, and I plan to grab handfulls at a time and distribute them accordingly, so put the effin' papers down, take as many as you can hold, get the eff out and start doing the papers" She was absolutely astonished, however she then proceeded to do them as I instructed. It's honestly amazing how some people think....

Her constant complaining also pissed me off. I decided we were working ~30 minutes overtime one day because we hadn't completed our work, and she then told me she couldn't do her easy job of writing numbers on papers because she was feeling sick and exhausted from the heat. I told her okay, that's fine, go sit in our vehicle and I'll do them. She started to complain to me about how I don't NEED to do them (she had only been with us 2-3 days at this point) and how she's so sick and she's gonna die and she's also going to crap herself (yes, she said that). I told her to go to the washroom (which are way above average facilities at my work, btw) and do her business if she needed to and I'll finish up the job and once I'm done we can go home, but she insisted that she would not. I then proceeded to do both my job and her job while she yelled complaints out of her car the entire time about how much she was suffering. I mean, I'm sorry, but if you're going to complain to me all friggin' day about working out in the heat, when I'm enduring the same heat as you, then I can't help or be sympathetic to you really, especially when I'm already doing your damn job for you, and I especially don't care about your personal problems at work, so keep your embarrassing life to yourself, please.

I'll end it with the day of her first paycheque. She came into work after working with me for 2 weeks and already at 8am was complaining about how she's had no money in over a month, and her boyfriend wouldn't even give her $20 and she has absolutely no gas in her shitty 92 Ford rustbucket of a pickup truck to get to our office HQ and pick up her pay (she didn't have direct deposit setup at that point). She told me that in the morning before work she had exactly $8 to her name, and while at the gas station she debated between buying gas or a pack of smokes with that money. She said she went with the smokes because she was "too embarrassed" to put $8 of gas in her car. When someone has that kind of a mentality towards life, that alone speaks for itself in depicting the type of person you all can imagine her to be.

I work for the "Loblaws-Asian-Supermarket-which-I-must-not-put-any-obvious-names-because-HR-actually-gave-me-a-warning-once-for-some-crap-that-I-posted-on-the-net"

Being paid slightly above minimum wage based on my work performance, my boss and supervisors label me as the "aisle supervisor" because apparently I gave enough ****s about what I do.
So every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, I have to work with this woman who seems to be so damn self-centered about her assigned aisles.
Let's get this straight...our store sucks, sales aren't great compared to the other stores, therefore we can't hire more people and allocate more hours. My boss tells us that because of our current situation, we must help each other out, finish the restocking before dinner time, regardless of what the assigned aisles we get.
EVERY ****ING WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY, AND FRIDAY...she just STAYS at the assigned aisles and never helps me and my fellow co-worker. Price checks are ALWAYS IGNORED, even when there are at times when 4 cashiers call for a price check at the same time, she doesn't even BUDGE. Even when performing closing procedures, she still does her assigned aisles so I end up doing such a half-assed front facing (you know...make the canned soup and shit straight and perfect).

Fine. I don't care. I'm not your boss, I have no right to say anything to you for those actions.
However, she has ticked me off not once, but twice!
I am responsible for pulling out skids of inventory, she doesn't even need to do jack shit other than do the restocking on her aisles. We usually get about 3-4 skids of inventory every day, but I pull out 1-2 just to see how things are going.
Since the 2 skids are dealt with, and we still had about 1 hour till dinner time, I pulled half a skid out (with 98% of the items belong to my assigned aisles and not hers). SHE HAD THE GUTS TO COME UP TO ME AND TELL ME THAT WE CAN'T FINISH IT. I told her that it's the boss and the store manager's orders to pull out the items anyways...if we can't finish it, then we'll drag it back into the receiving area. Then she tells me that "That isn't your job, why should you listen to them?" I was shocked for about a minute and just walked away restocking everything in 30 minutes with time to spare. My boss came over and asked if I'm ok, I said "NO, I'm NOT OK...WITH HER..." So my boss proceeds to cut her shifts down to 1. Yes. 1.

Some time last week, I did the same thing again...she comes up to me and says "It's almost 6, why are you pulling out more?" I look at my watch, it says 5:30. In my mind, I was thinking "GEE, DOES IT EVEN ****ING MATTER? ALL THIS STUFF IN MY CART ARE ALL MY AISLE, IT'S NOT THAT YOU'RE GONNA HELP ME."
So I just responded with a "eh, don't care".

Seriously...I get yelled by my bosses for NOT taking stuff out of the receiving area. Even the receiving supervisor tells me to move that shit out quickly. Now I get yelled by a co-worker that works only 1 shift COMPARED TO MY 5 and thinks she has the dam right to tell me what I CAN AND CANNOT DO? I wish my boss could just fire her for being so useless...

If she tells me the same thing again, I will honestly just say whatever comes out of my mind next time. I don't even care if I get fired for it...

- people who hit 'reply all' i swear IT dept needs to disable that button from people's e-mail programs
- the ONE guy who comes into work, spends 1 hour walking around saying good morning and chit chatting with everyone before starting his day
- people who run into the bathroom at 9:58am, drop a power shit and run out at 10:00am for thier next meeting.

LOL @ her saying she is gonna crap her pants

I would have canned her ass

Good policy.. What about a "No stink" policy? :chuckle

Hate it when stink covers the room. Not to mention my room has bad air circulation.

I know a guy at my dad's work who stank so bad, they fired him. True Story.

LOL! i feel for all you pencil pushing office go-ers, pretty much the reasons why i love my job... i don't get the majority of this BS, dont get me wrong construction still has those douche bags that smell but its easy to avoid them when there are 200+ electricians on a site lol i would pull a Columbine if i worked in a 3ft by 3ft cubical dealing with the same people and their BS day in and day out...

My whole floor is open concept so its a "cubicle" per say. I can get up and take a break when I want, I can go to Timmies when I want..
I will 100% keep this over my old job as a mover. Standing in a 53foot metal trailer that can get to 120degrees in the summer easily vs my nice air conditioned office....Not to mention I make 3 X as much.

I also have my headphones in 99% of the day, if someone needs me they can msn or email me..

No way, that's plain cruel. :chuckle I wonder how they delivered the news... "Hi Mr./Ms. Smith., unfortunately we will have to let you go because the odour that your body emits is unbearable." (professional enough?) :chuckle

Again, a little on the cruel side, but funny! :chuckle

At my old job there was a dude who stank so bad the other employees and I took turns sneak attacking him with spray deodorant to keep it at bay.

My solution to these kind of people (every office has them) - headphones. I listen to music all day not because I enjoy the songs, but because I just don't want to listen to everybody chewing/eating/whistling/chewing

I work with the most condescending woman of all time. In her mid 40's and is semi attractive but thinks she's 25 and belongs on the cover of magazines. Starts every sentence with "sweety" and can't do ANYTHING herself.

"Sweety how do I get to yorkdale from here?"
"Take dufferin"
"and then what?"
STFU

"Sweety, can you call this place for me and ask if their open?"

"Sweety when you're in tomorrow can you call my client?"

While standing RIGHT next to a stack of papers that she needs
"Sweety can you grab that paper for me?"
"you're right next to it..."
"yeah but someones waiting for me"
"ok so how does that stop you from getting it?"
etc...

How do people like this get through life?

You're not far off from what I actually did one day. She knows she condescending too so one day she says (while sitting at a round table with 3 other employees) "sweety do you mind bringing me my sales list?" to which i responded "its about 2 feet away can't you get it"
She jokingly says "oh common be a good doggy"
So i went and grabbed her sales list and when She reached out for it i dropped it in the trash right next to her, just missing her hand.
"next time, be a good doggy and get it yourself".

Ughhhh ok I have to post here about my "cubicle mate" because she is driving me insane. She is by far THE most attention starved person I've ever met in my entire life.

If it's not her personal life she's bitching about or how much she hates her husband, she's spending the rest of her time bitching about her medical problems or allergies. The extent she went to a couple of years ago when I was still new to the company tipped me off about how much she loves attention from everyone but lately she's just turning into a 5 year old child.

The latest attention whoring stunt she pulled yesterday made me laugh though. She actually tried this a week ago, she sent an email around the office letting everyone know that she had lost her voice (because we all care) and spent the entire day in silence. Even though she could somehow cough extremely loudly, she somehow had no voice. Any time someone asked her what happened she would point to her monitor which had a Google search up that said "loss of voice due to allergies". I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt until she came to work the next morning completely fine with no signs that her throat had been sore or her voice had been gone the entire day.

I rolled my eyes and went on my way until she tried to pull the stunt again yesterday. She got A LOT of attention the first time, figures she'd want to do it again. I had to laugh because the entire day she was whispering but kept slipping up accidentally. At one point she completely forgot she was whispering when she turned to me to bitch about a job she was working on. I wanted to call her out but I figured I wouldn't embarrass her anymore than she's already doing herself... she was already doing a great job of it.

This morning, her voice is perfectly fine again.

This woman is seriously worse than my 4 year old niece. I feel bad because I like to keep things professional at work, but I can't even talk to her anymore without wanting to slap her and telling her the jig is up.

I could go on about this person, she has done a lot of stupid things like this in the past, not to mention the complaints filed against her for being such a bitch to people on her "cranky days" (which everyone also has to know about and deal with according to her)... she really brings me down. I love when she's away, I find I'm much more productive when all that negative energy is removed. *sigh* I guess every office has one... or every kindergarten class for that matter. ;P
